Re: Tennis Tipping Managers Thread 2011 (Managers needed for November!!!)

I have just noticed that a player has committed in Toyota first, withdrawn from there, and then entered Helsinki, which I am hosting
Entered Toyota – 11-8-2011. 06.57AM
Withdrew Toyota – 11-9-2011. 05.53AM
Entered Helsinki – 11-9-2011 05.52AM
I am right in thinking that that player should be a LE in Helsinki, even though they committed to Helsinki before the first singles deadline aren’t I?.

Yes that is correct, sorry I should have listed the player in the list in red.
I've done it now for what it's worth.

Lots of strange movement this week.

DudiSela75 joe87

Code:
Phau 6:3 3:6 6:3 Phau 5-7 7-5 6-3
Niland 6:3 6:3 Niland 6-4 7-5
Minar 6:3 6:3 Minar 6-3 6-4
Gojowczyk 6:3 6:3 Gojowczyk 7-5 6-3
Bloemke 6:3 6:3 Bloemke 7-6 6-4
Struff 6:3 6:3 Struff 6-4 6-3
Beck 6:3 6:3 Beck 7-5 6-3
Becker 6:3 6:3 Becker 6-4 6-2
I think joe87 won on PTS6 as he correctly picked the order of 2 sets and predicted one correct set result.... Struff won 6-4/6-2
Is that right?
These are the results:

1 Becker 76 63

Re: Tennis Tipping Managers Thread 2011 (Managers needed for November!!!)

I have two SE questions.

A) My tournament in Toyota, Japan will have qualifying start early, I expect play to start around 3am Saturday CET.
I have to get the draws ready before the semifinals end in the previous week's tournament. The worse one is Montevideo where qualifying in Japan will probably start BEFORE the semifinals in Montevideo is completed. I have a some candidates for SE, what are the rules here, make provisional draws?

B) Can a top 30 player who is LE in a Challenger qualify for SE?

Re: Tennis Tipping Managers Thread 2011 (Managers needed for November!!!)

I might have the situation of three players requesting SE’s

Deathless Mortal (Post 115 – asked question if he decides to commit to Helsinki – also in Salzburg SF – opposite half of draw to Elmo Jr) – Would be ALT No 13 if he commits.
Elmo Jr (Post 117 - currently in Salzburg SF) – Currently ALT No 4 in Qualifying Draw List
Abollo (Post 118 - in final of Champaign) – Currently No 8 in Qualifying Draw List

As Deathless Mortal has just asked a question and not applied yet am I right that Abollo will get one SE as he’s now in final and Elmo Jr would get the second SE if he makes the final in Salzburg regardless of whether Deathless Mortal commits or not.

Also, what happens if Elmo Jr’s match isn’t decided by 6pm CET. Do I just include him in the qually draw at 6pm. Then if he wins in Salzburg do I automatically move him up to the main draw and put ALT No 1 into his place in the qually draw?
And if he loses in Salzburg that main draw place will then go to the No 1 LL from the final qualifying round loser?

Re: Tennis Tipping Managers Thread 2011 (Managers needed for November!!!)

Deathless Mortal would get SE in preference to Elmo Jr as he has higher ranking.

If matches are not decided by the time you do the QD, put him in and leave an extra space in MD.

This is from the FAQ guide:-

What happens if there are more players than available SE spots? How are players chosen?

In this case, they are chosen by ranking.

Number of special exempts:

ATP Masters Series (1000) and International Series Gold (500) Tournaments shall have one (1) Special Exempt and International Series (250) and Challenger Series Tournaments shall have two (2).

Players may receive a Special Exempt into the main draw of the following week's tournament if they meet the criteria and apply for it before the final deadline. If the main draw is to be made before a potential Special Exempt player plays on Friday, then such place(s) shall be drawn in the same manner as qualifier, i.e., four qualifiers ("Q") and one or two "SE" depending on whether there are one or two possibilities. Each of the five or six slots are marked "Q/SE." As soon as the "SE" match results are known, either the "SE" or the next Direct Acceptance (if the SE lost) is randomly drawn and inserted into the draw.

Re: Tennis Tipping Managers Thread 2011

The FAQs do not say "no" I think... The ATP doesn't meet this problem because the higher ranked players may only enter with WC...

TT Singles: W 2014: Heilbronn I; 2013: Marseille, Sarasota; 2012: Blois Fut QF 2012: USOpen

TT Singles ranking: 69 (High: 52)

TT Doubles: W 2016: Madrid, Meerbusch; 2015: Wimbledon, Gstaad, Moscow, Sarasota, Fergana; 2013: Winston-Salem, Sarajevo; 2012: Antalya, Tiburon; 2011: Izmir (w/ appleGirl); SF 2013, 2012: USOpen (w/ appleGirl);

TT Doubles ranking: 41 (High: 10)

Is a player still in the Year End Challenger Championships entitled to request a SE?

I don't think this has come up before so as it doesn't say no in the rules I guess they can.
Maybe this can be included in the off-season discussion
