Re: Tennis Tipping Managers Thread 2011 (February-March tournaments now available!!!)

In my opinion:-

The match was played, even though under different scoring.
Therefore I would treat it the same as a win by retirement, i.e winner counts but the SR does not.
So the winners are Boarder35m and Hotzenplotz on SR1 Shootout (Correct winner)

It's tough, but so are retirements.

(There could be a similar situation if a slam had to go from 5 sets to 3 sets for example)

Really, that's what my spreadsheet actually said when I just put in Melzer as winner indeed. I will do that. Thanks.

I think that's fair - I also think that should be codified somewhere - as you say there is the potential for it to happen in slams, although highly rarely.

Re: Tennis Tipping Managers Thread 2011 (February-March tournaments now available!!!)

im back with more questions!

So, Kooyong decided to skip 4 matches (losers half of the draw it seems).

Situation now:
I have 3 out of 4 QF decided, 1 depending on Berdych - Youzhny which won't take place.

My suggestion:

I can pick a winner in that 4th QF match based on the 2 matches that are played. Bad luck for 1 of the players, but it's out of my control that match won't take place.

Then tomorrow there are 2 matches, 1 counts for the SF match and 1 for the final match.

Is this an idea?!

*edit: i hope so, as I already implemented it

Ao qualies extends for Sunday. There are some committed players in Sheffield futures still in final rd of qualies.

When do i have to close the entries, make the draws? So that it will be easy for me to manage(i have exams too )

You can wait to make the draws till after the AO qualies are finished, so you know exactly which players you have.

You should post an OOP for Sunday as soon as you can, so players who do not know whether they are in or out can still send.

Re: Tennis Tipping Managers Thread 2011 (February-March tournaments now available!!!)

1.I made a deadline(12.00pm) GMT for closing the entries. After it gets passed ,one more player requested for entry.
2.One player already made his entry and now says he wont be able to send picks. So ,Is that withdrawal holds valid?
