I will leave him unseeded.

Just so I'm clear as well - do the top 30 not seeded apply to qualies as well? I will have two top 30 players in the qualies for Dallas.

Thanks.

Thanks for the offer, but by the time Guangzhou starts most of the hard grind on IW will be over, so I don't foresee any problems.

Much appreciated though.

Re: Tennis Tipping Managers Thread 2011

Question for the board just to verify - in the Dallas CH a few matches had only one diff - Smyczek 2-0 vs. 2-1. Smyczek retired losing 4-1 in the first set. If I understand correctly, because you dont count the SR in the case of a retirement, I cant give the win to the player who gave Groth a set. I need to go to PTS, correct?

Then would come question number 2. GoBlakeGo vs. rodrigol_87 - taking away the Smyczek diff - both picked 64 63 in every match. Since its the first round, there is no countback possibility. GoBlakeGo is ranked higher (75 vs 83) so should win - yet rodrigol_87 is a seed and GoBlakeGo is a LL from qualies. If I understand the rules correctly, however, in this scenario that doesnt matter and GoBlakeGo is the winner, right?

Re: Tennis Tipping Managers Thread 2011

I hope you are right
It would be ridiculous if after 6:0, 5:0 ret. 2-0 score doesn't beat 2-1 and after 4:1 ret. 1-2 beats 0-2

You are right.
It is always a very tough way to lose a match by ranking, but in your scenario GoBlakeGo wins

Re: Tennis Tipping Managers Thread 2011

A quick question to regular TT managers - At the Sarajevo Challenger tomorrow, there are only 5 matches in the OOP (4 Qualy Final Round matches and 1 Main Draw R1 match).

Are 5 matches in the OOP sufficient for a Day 1/1 Singles Round 1 or should I include maybe 3 or 4 matches from the Tuesday OOP to make it into a two Day Singles Round 1? Please don't reply 'It's your choice' - I would appreciate some opinions from regular managers or the TT board. Thanks in advance.

Re: Tennis Tipping Managers Thread 2011

My personal preference to have at least 6 R1 matches, and if I'm using final qualifying round matches in there, at least 8. That's just what I try to do personally.

I would make it a 2-day 1st round here, so that the TT matches are not mostly decided by matches from the qualification only

Re: Tennis Tipping Managers Thread 2011

I would be persuaded by the standard of the players left in the final qualifying round.

If they are relatively well known and the matches are likely to be tight I would have no objection to using just the 5 matches.

Otherwise I agree that a 2-day round is the better option.

Edit: I've looked at the matches, and definitely this should be a 2 day round!
