Highest ranked individual player - I don't think this is written anywhere, but it's what's been used before in this situation

Re: Tennis Tipping FAQ/Guide

I'm still a bit confused. The highest scoring loser gets a bye in a match where both players didn't send also applies to Qualifying first round right?

What about doubles? What if in 1 match, all 4 players sent whereas in another match only 1 of the 4 players sent, does the losing team replace or not?

Tennis Tipping

Singles: (--/10) Finals: 1-5 ATP, 3-1 Challengers
W: Rotterdam '12
Slams:1R,3R,3R,QF

Doubles: (--/5) Finals: 3-4 ATP, 8-7 Challengers
W: US Open '12 (w/Allez-Alejo), Bercy '11 (w/ZackBusner), Winston-Salem '12 (w/Betty)
Slams:2R,3R,QF,W

Re: Tennis Tipping FAQ/Guide

I've got 2 matches in Doha where both players didn't send in and only 2 matches where both players did send in (NYE hello). Does it mean I can rearrange the draw now or smth? Or just bad luck for the players who sent in, they have to count on a massive no-sending tomorrow as well?

Should we announce an order for the lucky losers every day?

today is one day round right? Then the 2 losers of the matches where both sent, goes into the spot in the draw where nobody sent effectively meaning everyone who sent wins, unless there's ALT's that can be put in.

as I understand the rule once the replacements are made today the rule won't apply tomorrow as it's only for the first round

Re: Tennis Tipping FAQ/Guide

Yes, I don't think you change your draw now. You play as normal, and then in the matches where both didn't send, after play is over, the best losers in the other matches can fill in as LL in the matches where nobody sent, for the next round. But it's only for R1 and QR1 where this applies.

Re: Tennis Tipping FAQ/Guide

Thank you If I have further questions I'll keep asking to make sure

Actually I have just 1 pair where either player didn't send in, so we'll have 1 LL Sounds like a brilliant change of rules!

So if both players won't send tomorrow (Q2), I can't put anyone else from the draw, just the countback will be relevant.

Re: Tennis Tipping FAQ/Guide

Nathaliia, I confirm:-

1. You do not change the draw.

2. The rule that late picks def no picks still applies. So if either Uraitan or Jaco He sends late picks they win.

3. If neither sends late, yes, you put best loser in their place in QR2

4. The new rule does not apply to QR2, so you would use countback.

5. In MD round 1 you would first fill vacant spots with LLs following existing rules. In the very unlikely event that a match with 2 non-sending players is still left, the new rule will apply again.

6. MD2 would use countback if necessary.

Orangehat, I hope Nathaliia's practical example makes everything clear.

In your doubles example, the team sending 1 set of picks would defeat the team sending no picks - no change there. Only if all four players failed to send would the new rule apply.

Re: Tennis Tipping FAQ/Guide

Thank you Jim

And when 2 players sent me their late picks, while their opponent sent normal early picks, I do not count them - just like it was in the past, right? (sorry for being painful with these questions )

Correct, late picks never count against timely picks.

Ask as many questions as you need. Much better questions before than arguments afterwards.

Re: Tennis Tipping FAQ/Guide

Just to check, Tournament CB (when PTS is tied), is #of total picks, and if that is tied, does it go to CB of the previous round or #SR of total picks?
