PYW Newsletter

I'll try to do this as much as I can. Active players will receive it by PM unless they say they don't want.

PYW Newsletter - From 23/03 to 05/04

Marcos Baghdatis

Marcos Baghdatis proved to be the best PYW player of the moment by winning his 4th title of the season at Miami. He started his successful run winning easily against the always dangerous Ernests Gulbis, 6-2 6-2. In the next 3 rounds Marcos had easy wins against Mathieu, Kohlschreiber and Blake. The quarterfinal match would be a good test as he would face Jarkko Nieminen for the 4th time this year! A 7-5 6-3 win put the Cypriot in the semifinal, where he would face David Ferrer. It was an expected close match, and Marcos prevailed at the end with a 7-5 6-7 6-4 win. In the final it seemed like he didn't even show up in the first set, losing 0-6 to Roger Federer. Anyway, the crowd support made Baghdatis come back to his usual form and he won the both the 2nd and 3rd sets 6-3, clinching the title at Key Biscayne, which joined his previous triumphs at the Australian Open, Johannesburg and San Jose. Marcos holds now an impressive 26-3 record for the season, keeping the #1 spot at the ranking.

Juan Pablo Brzezicki

At the same time Baghdatis was winning his 4th ATP title of the year, Juan Pablo Brzezicki was achieving a similar thing at the St Brieuc challenger. 'El Polaco' defeated Peter Luczak to clinch his 4th challenger title of the year (Bucaramanga, Santiago and Caltanissetta). Let's see who will bring home more trophies, Baghdatis or Brzezicki

Another interesting fact at the challengers was Henri Kontinen's title at Sarajevo. The Finn teenage managed to defeat experienced players to win the trophy. He is also the first player to win tournaments of different categories this year (previously won a future at Great Britain). Can he win an ATP now? This task should be much harder.

Re: PYW Newsletter

I AM LOVING THIS CAIO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Make sure to include any upsets in the articles too. Im liking the links to profiles and stuff. I would just remeber to include new stuff on PYW forums, formats of voting, encouragement to vote, and managers names and encouragement to manage. Send this to ALL active players until they say they dont want it.
