7- @Ragnar Lothbrok

Introduction:

Got to #1 for the first time this year despite an awful start that saw him lose day 1 on all first four tournaments of the year, including the Australian Open, and a strong clay and grass season with deep runs at both Roland Garros and Wimbledon saw him qualify in 7th place for the Year-end tournament.

Started playing: 2014

Previous appearances: 2015
Best result: 2015 Day 4/8 (300p)

6- @RoddickFan.

Introduction:

Arguably the best player in the history of this game looking at all the statistics, even if he has never actually won a tournament thus far. After a poor 2015 by his standards, he's unsurprisingly back to the World Tour Finals.

Best result: 2014 Day 5 (400p)

5- @CarlosDjoker

Introduction:

Made a great debut in this game in late 2015, winning his 1st title in Basel. Built on that this year by winning 2 more titles (including a Slam in Australia) and going as high as #3 in the rankings, easily booking his spot in London way ahead of time.

Overview:

Started playing: 2015

Re: Suicide Tennis: World Tour Finals

4- @Vitor BM

Introduction:

Won more titles (3), reached more final days (7) and survived more days (128) than anyone else this year. Perhaps the reason he's not ranked even higher is everyone else in the top 5 won the Australian Open while he lost on day 1. He's most definitely the favorite right now to become #1 after the 2017 AO.

Overview:

Started playing: 2014
Highest ranking: #1 (for 5 weeks)
Previous appearances: 2014 and 2015
Best result: 2014 Day 4 (300p)

Re: Suicide Tennis: World Tour Finals

3- @Bazza

Introduction:

Made Suicide Tennis history by becoming the first player ever to win 2 Slams in the same year. Couldn't quite perform to that level during the rest of the year, hence why Slam domination hasn't taken him to #1 in the rankings yet. 4000 of his 5770 points have come from the Australian Open and Wimbledon.

Overview:

Started playing: 2013
Highest ranking: #3 (current)
Previous apperances: None

2- @VamosRafaNadal

Introduction:

After retiring last year due to other commitments, he returned this year and it's no surprise to see him so close to the top of the rankings and with a Slam title in Australia under his belt. Will be aiming to finish the year #1 and get the title that might have escaped him in 2014 due to controversial withdraw rules.

1- @Taz Warrior

Introduction:

Got off to a blistering start, looking on pace for the best Suicide Tennis year ever and breaking the highest point total ever achieved, but slowed down significantly in the second half of the season. Such was his headstart though that he remains #1 heading into the last tournament of the year. He's also the record titlist of this game with 13, the last of which obtained this year at the Australian Open.

Overview:

Started playing: 2007
Highest ranking: #1 (for 15 weeks)

And that's all for now, everyone is introduced. So yeah, good luck to everyone Draw comes out later today, play begins on Sunday.

During the week, I'll sort out the participants according to some stats (ie most days survived, most days survived in Slams, whatever comes to mind).

Really cool thread - well done on all of the player profiles and statistics

I plan on doing something on a much smaller scale for FITD, and might use similar parts of your layout if that is ok with you.

Good luck to all of the qualifiers

Re: Suicide Tennis: World Tour Finals

Very informative thread as usual. Well done, @Mark Lenders .

Just one correction: I didn't have a strong finish of the year. Actually I was better mid-year, I reached late stages of both RG and Wimbledon, it was the part of the year who put me ranked #1 for a few weeks.

Last year I could've done better at WTF, but I gambled on Day 4 (Ferrer over Wawrinka) trying to finish the year at #1, it backfired.

I've a feeling this is gonna be a very tricky WTF, Murray looks like the only trustable player right now.

I've corrected your profile, it was indeed your RG and WB campaigns that took you so high.

And yes, I'm not confident of winning this again. Last year, the strategy was simple: Ferrer was NID to go 0-3 so in one of the groups all that needed to be done was picking Ferrer's opponent every time. In the other group, the only challenge was picking a winner between Nishikori and Berdych...

This year, Thiem is theoretically playing the usual Ferrer role of 0-3 whipping boy, but the other group will be a nightmare to pick... imo, every match not involving Murray in that group is close to 50-50 + any of Nishikori/Wawrinka/Cilic can easily beat Murray. Will be very tough to survive that group.
