too many missed 1st serves and two poor shots.. one a volley and the other hitting straight to nadal on a short ball.. ugh
Tim really has to increase first serve %
gets back to deuce on 3 good points including a very good reflex volley at the net only to misplay a drop volley and leave Rafa with another bp which Tim saves
finishes off with a good S&V and an ace. 5-4 Nadal.
Tim is playing well but he needs to start converting. Nadal is too good to just let all these chances slip by. if he;'s going to win this one he needs to win the first set
it's a close match but I wouldn't say they are both at their very best yet. Nadal has hit too many wayward FHs (susprising actually) and Tim's first serve % must be a concern (I don't know what it is but I'd be surprised it it was over 55%)
having said that Tim is playing better than I've seen him play for awhile and he's really using (or trying to use) the whole court much like he did in his halcyon year of 04.
