Appeal mod 2016 - Tennis4Lyf is the new appeal mod

Alright, time to vote and choose the forum's new appeal moderator, there are four candidates this time. Voting is public. Those who want to vote privately may PM a mod of their choice.

Good luck.

“There’s so many athletes, tennis players around the world,” he continued, trying to put his life into some kind of perspective, “they want to be the best in what they do. They want to succeed. Many of them, they don’t succeed in the end. I’m fortunate to have this opportunity and succeed.”

Tennis4Lyf 4tw

PS: What are appeal mods actually doing? They can decide whether one gets unbanned or not, after hearing an "appeal"?

Tennis4Lyf cause he seems quite objective and not a too invested in being a fan of whatever player.

When any poster gets any sort of infraction they can appeal it. The appeal moderator looks at the infraction and the appeal and decides whether or not to proceed with the appeal. They then take the appeal to the moderators and if they can get two moderators to agree to the appeal then the infraction is overturned.

Re: Appeal mod 2016 - vote now!

My experience. This is irrelevant. Appeal mods are pretty much useless.

AFAIK, for the whole year Loosie managed to make only one successful appeal (for Yoda) and that was the case when a mod in questions clearly misunderstood what Yoda was trying to say.

But If I have to vote it will be for clearwaters. He is a Novak hater, but not as passionate as others on the list.

Except NovakSlam2016 of course, but he has 0 votes. A clear proof how much are Novak haters prevalent in this forum. Sad.

Re: Appeal mod 2016 - vote now!

Derek is a great Novak fan and one of my favourite posters, but not sure if he's right for Appeal mod. Voted for clearwaters, seems to have a good head on his shoulders and will be fair.

Dont know who fridge46 is so obviously cant vote for him.

Just as an FYI in the last year here are the stats:

29 appeals received.
13 appeals presented. (two withdrawn after further explanation)
6 appeals successful.

Re: Appeal mod 2016 - vote now!

Ooops not a good prospect for me running against Tennis4Lyf!

Hi guys

Can't really say I'll make MTF great again, that's not up to me. But I can assure everyone that I'll be objective and unbiased in mods duties, and the fact that I'm a Federer fan will not a factor in whatever decision I have to make. I want to be a mod because I think this is an area I think I can be of use in, as a way of giving back to MTF.

I believe ultimately our purposes on here are all similar regardless of who we support- we all want to have a bit of fun chatting with people who share our interest. I will bear that in mind and make sure everyone can have as much as fun as I have on MTF.

So please be assured I will apply the rules and assess the circumstances as fairly as I can be.

Thanks everyone for your votes.

Again, my time on MTF has not been long, which I think is a disadvantage compared to others, but I hope my posts on GM speak for themselves.

Re: Appeal mod 2016 - vote now!

All candidates are terrible, since all of them have a negative opinion about RAFA. And as I have already experienced, this thing doesn't work at all. It has been created to make it look like users are protected from unfair bans, while in fact appeal mod never supports banned posters.

No1e is the best player of all time (BOAT) and Nadal's master.

Tennis4Lyf is winning the poll by a landslide for the moment and he is a big Rafa fan.

And no. The Appeal mod is not supposed to be on the users side, and that is exactly why no one seems to understand this position. They're not a lawyer, they're there to make an unbiased opinion - the position has never been advertised as one to protect users, only defend them if deemed necessary.

And if you could read the thread properly, Loosie has already proved almost 50% of appeals were supported, and half of those in turn were successful. That's almost 20% bans overturned, fair number considering mods are supposed to get it right in the first place.

Every claim you made in this post is wrong
