Question Unable to access MTF from my home wi-fi

Hi,

experiencing a strange issue, this started happening maybe last week or so, I am no longer able to access menstennisforums.com from my home wi-fi (from my laptop or from my phone when it's connected), it just times out. I've restarted my router and everything. Can't see any reason why this would be happening, I used to access it fine, especially on my mobile phone. Now I need to disable wi-fi on my phone in order to even access it, when I'm at home.

Any ideas why this might be happening, and how it could be resolved? It's really weird

Thanks

Re: Unable to access MTF from my home wi-fi

Hi,

Do you get an error message when you try? I know you said that it times out, but what do you see when it happens? Also, what type of a device are you using?

Re: Unable to access MTF from my home wi-fi

Hi,

thanks for your reply. Honestly I can't access it now to give you the exact error, but it just looks like it is loading for a long time, and then a blank page with 'the connection has timed out' appears. This is on a laptop. On my iphone, it just looks like it's loading forever, I never even saw it get to any other screen or error (but I didn't wait that long). I also tried it on a third device (another laptop), same thing. The only common factor is that all devices were connected to my wi-fi. Which was not a problem until recently.
Really baffling.

This is still occurring so if anyone has any idea what might have caused the problem, and how to fix it, it'd be appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Unable to access MTF from my home wi-fi

Do a traceroute and see where it stops. Just enter: menstennisforums.com into the field and check out where the connection drops.

Traceroute

You probably have some firewall up.

I have exactly the same problem from one particular provider, after some years suddenly MTF is unreachable from that address (213*...)

Re: Unable to access MTF from my home wi-fi

Hi guys,

thanks for the additional input. I ran a traceroute (when I was home, copied the results to myself in a message), here it is:

Any thoughts? I don't understand any of this. If it was just happening from my laptop I could understand maybe some kind of program causing a conflict, some firewall settings etc. But it's literally from any device connected to my router. And it's not like I made any changes to the router itself.

As for my IP address not being blocked, just to check, which IP exactly were you referring to? I've been posting from different locations (phone via 3G, work wifi) since obviously I can't access the forums from my home IP address. So just wondering whether it was even possible to know that my IP wasn't blocked.

Cheers

Re: Unable to access MTF from my home wi-fi

Maybe the MTF admin blocked the IP range from your "home" service provider in Croatia (213.149.62.xxx) because there were server attacks coming from that range (started by other customers of the provider).

Edit: Sorry, I only saw Steve/Marie's message above after my post. No block, apparently.

You have the same problem of a package not making the last hop... best you can do is ask your internet provider's support whether they can do anything about it.

Re: Unable to access MTF from my home wi-fi

Hm, does not seem likely I'll have much luck, but I guess I can try. Really weird that it would only be affecting MTF (as far as I know).

thanks

Suddenly works for me, after some weeks, how about you?

Yep, was just going to write an update, it works for me from my home network now. Not sure what happened but glad it did!
