WTAWorld men's forum

You know, there's a reason people didn't return to this place when it suddenly reappeared. I understand why you shut down the men's forum at WTAWorld but I hope you didn't expect everyone to come here instead. This site is even more unreliable than its sister site (are you guys still fighting with the ATP?) and most of us who didn't come back didn't come back for that reason.

Best of luck rebuilding the site. I hope you treat those users better than you treated us.

Re: WTAWorld men's forum

Hi TennisHack,

We already stated we had resolved the dispute with the ATP. There's no ongoing fight with them.

I'm sorry if you feel we mistreated you. We did what we could to resolve matters to the best of our abillity, especially considering we provide a free service, and have no funds to fight silly legal battles.

This is our men's tennis section. WTAworld was always intended to be an interim measure to fill the gap. I'm very sorry if you feel we treated you badly and that you can no longer be part of the community here. If there's anything we can do to possibly change your mind please let me know.

Amanda.

Amanda - just to let you know that I, for one, think this was a smart move, since the situation up to now caused to many users (like me) not being sure if to post on the men's thread at wtaworld or here. Now this is solved and thank you

Less reliable than wtaworld? I don't think that's possible. I would agree with evyatar; this makes things much less confusing.

Re: WTAWorld men's forum

Well said TH. I will probably still post here occasionally, because I like talking to some of the posters here, but I do not trust this site anymore, I have no reason to believe that I won't suddenly get cut off again without warning. This site was once important to me, I spent hours here everyday, and it's sudden demise was disappointing to say the least. Now I'm indifferent, because I have no expectations that it will still be there in the morning, so to speak.

Good luck with everything.

Re: WTAWorld men's forum

I forgot to add that I liked the way things were when there was a men's tennis section on the WTAworld. That way I could talk about the WTA and the ATP on the same site, with the same people who used to post here. I don't agree with this decision.

Re: WTAWorld men's forum

Thanks for your comments and feedback.

I do understand it was disappointing to have the site pulled for many months and so suddenly. I also don't expect everyone to be immediately trusting that the site will still be here tomorrow. Afterall, there has been plenty of dramas recently with both boards. All I can say is it took a LOT of effort to pull the site together again under a new name, after resolving our main legal dispute. Read into that what you will.

There are good points and bad points about separate sites. I think the benefits overall outweigh the drawbacks however. Some of the plus points have been highlighted above by others. The smaller community here allows us to offer you extra features like custom avatars. And other fans of men's tennis are more inclined to join in discussions, when they're not hidden away at the bottom of WTA discussion site.

It costs more, and takes longer to maintain, to provide two separate sites. If we felt one-site-for-all was better then the decision would have been a no-brainer really.

Re: Re: WTAWorld men's forum

Like Layla, I enjoyed the one stop shopping of WTAW although I understand the reasoning behind splitting the sites.

It's just nicer to discuss both tours on one board.

Also, people might not have felt so jerked about had there been some advanced discussion of the closing.
