Re: Ban Lengths: Feedback

Wow, there is so much effort put into this.

I never knew that the warning/infraction/banning (or I can abbreviate into WIB) process is so complex and well thought of in this forum. There is sub categories for each category that fits a certain purpose.

I do have some differing opinions about this, but since I've only been in this board since March of 2013, I don't want to come off as trying to be know it all, and the effort put into making these jurisdictions are evident; it made me retract, and hold off my opinions until a real dire need of feedback is needed.

My only feedback is I guess, it's too much information to grasp for newly active members like me.

Re: Ban Lengths: Feedback

The majority of this is not new. What is new is that it is very clear how long a ban will be for say a 4th active card, whereas before there were times when it varied from case to case leading to inconsistency. Users asked for more consistency so this is one area where we can now offer more consistency.

Re: Ban Lengths: Feedback

I see. I really hope the effort put into these changes pays off. I have one wonderment though.

A user receives two red cards of different violations, and hence receives banishment. Would the length of each red card stack into his total banishment period?

For example, Red Card A is 1 month, whereas Red Card B is 2 months. Would that result in a 3 month banishment, or will the red card of the longer duration supersedes?

Add them up, although it is extremely rare that both happen on one post.

Re: Ban Lengths: Feedback

The week for feedback has passed. I will be very happy to continue any meaningful conversation about this via PM.

Thanks.
