I maintain what I said in the first thread:
Of all the terrible idea you've had, this one takes the cake. These nicknames and general banter are what defines MTF and why most of us keep logging in on an almost daily basis. That's actually how a lot of friendships are made here, after this sort of banter between members of different fanbases. I even get along with some fans of Ferrer despite my anti-Ferrer campaign.
Don't try to make MTF something it's not: it's not a serious news site, it's an informal tennis discussion site - with a mix of serious and lighthearted comments. If you can't handle the sort of banter that comes with posting on GM, just go somewhere else. It is well known that people without a sense of humour can't survive as regular posters in a big online forum, not here or anywhere else. This remains if this rule is implemented btw, the sheer volume is too big to ever actually fully censor.
My favorite players get a lot of these 'nicknames' too ('Del Shitro', 'Del Bashtro', 'Clownga', 'Clownfils', 'Mugrin', 'Berdshit', etc...) and I want that to continue, in fact I encourage it. If I or others were against it, our place wouldn't be MTF but a fan forum of certain players. I fully endorse GSMnadal's protest, he's spot on and is a great example of a poster with the right mix of serious posts and great banter
Absolute disgrace of a rule. Although it definitely did reduce the animosity between fanbases, people from every fanbase are unanimous in believing this rule is insanely idiotic.
