Re: Player Bashing Rule: Feedback

So no Noserer, Nadull, Mugray, Vulture, Fakervic, Gruntollers anymore? Wow. I think this is where MTF starts to crumble. Humour and banter is dead.

Re: Player Bashing Rule: Feedback

I have read the changes, but I want to make one thing clear: are positive, admiring nicknames still allowed? Eg. King, Prince, etc.?

Re: Player Bashing Rule: Feedback

I maintain what I said in the first thread:

Quote:
Of all the terrible idea you've had, this one takes the cake. These nicknames and general banter are what defines MTF and why most of us keep logging in on an almost daily basis. That's actually how a lot of friendships are made here, after this sort of banter between members of different fanbases. I even get along with some fans of Ferrer despite my anti-Ferrer campaign.

Don't try to make MTF something it's not: it's not a serious news site, it's an informal tennis discussion site - with a mix of serious and lighthearted comments. If you can't handle the sort of banter that comes with posting on GM, just go somewhere else. It is well known that people without a sense of humour can't survive as regular posters in a big online forum, not here or anywhere else. This remains if this rule is implemented btw, the sheer volume is too big to ever actually fully censor.

My favorite players get a lot of these 'nicknames' too ('Del Shitro', 'Del Bashtro', 'Clownga', 'Clownfils', 'Mugrin', 'Berdshit', etc...) and I want that to continue, in fact I encourage it. If I or others were against it, our place wouldn't be MTF but a fan forum of certain players. I fully endorse GSMnadal's protest, he's spot on and is a great example of a poster with the right mix of serious posts and great banter
Absolute disgrace of a rule. Although it definitely did reduce the animosity between fanbases, people from every fanbase are unanimous in believing this rule is insanely idiotic.

MTF games titles:

Suicide Tennis (5): Wimbledon 2014, World Tour Finals 2015, Madrid 2015, Kuala Lumpur 2014 and Metz 2015 - 1 Slam, 1 WTF, 1 Masters 1000, 2 ATP 250; 2 finals lost

Fill-in-the-Draw (3): US Open 2014, Rotterdam 2013 and Geneva 2015 - 1 Slam, 1 ATP 500 and 1 ATP 250

Tennis Tipping (3): Veneza and Todi 2014 (with vn01), Knoxville 2015 (with Redkop) - 3 challengers; 7 finals lost

Re: Player Bashing Rule: Feedback

You just killed the forum with this ridiculous rule.
Keep banning great users and implementing rules like this... smart move.

Re: Player Bashing Rule: Feedback

Posters have to act respectable and generate quality discussion, how bad for MTF

Federer / Haas / Safin / Gaudio / Kuerten / Youzhny / Nadal / Gonzalez / Ljubicic / Hewitt / Soderling / Wawrinka / Coria / Nalbandian / Kohlschreiber

Re: Player Bashing Rule: Feedback

Absolutely ridiculous rule. You can't have a sports forum where every poster is expected to adore every player.

Rule also says you can't say "takes out the trash"

Not sure how this forces you to adore even a single player?

Federer / Haas / Safin / Gaudio / Kuerten / Youzhny / Nadal / Gonzalez / Ljubicic / Hewitt / Soderling / Wawrinka / Coria / Nalbandian / Kohlschreiber

Correct, you can no longer call a player 'trash' or terms that are similar.

Re: Player Bashing Rule: Feedback

A far more sensible rule would be a well-enforced no off topic bashing rule. eg. a poster could say "NID Ferrer would vulture another tournament by beating only players outside the top 20" in a Ferrer results thread, but in a Tsonga results thread he couldn't say "Good for Tsonga losing here unlike Ferrer, who would vulture another tournament by beating only players outside the top 20"

Interesting point.

Feedback like this will be seriously considered.

Sidenote: Feedback like 'This is a dumb rule, I want to continue bashing players' will not really be considered.
