Vote to select the new appeal moderator

Dear members,

Information regarding the need for an appeal moderator, the new appeal procedures, as well as the procedures for electing a new appeal moderator were explained here.

In the current thread, please vote to select the new appeal moderator from those who have kindly agreed to volunteer for this position. This poll will close in a week. The individual with the most number of votes when the poll has closed will become the new appeal moderator.

Note that in case two or more individuals are very close in the race, or if it seems appropriate for other reasons, there may be another round of voting with a subset of the current participants who obtained the highest number of votes. As of now, however, the outcome of this poll will determine the appeal moderator.

Please note that this poll is public. If you would prefer instead to cast your vote anonymously, please send your vote to me via private message.

The appeal moderator will serve a very important function in the forum. So please take the time to vote in this process.

Edit: Votes via Private message

I can't wait for Lenders to deny any appeal relating to Ferrer.

Re: Vote to select the new appeal moderator

If Lenders becomes mod, he may be biased to banned users who are Ferrertards.

Punky and Prodigy IMO, are not really the best choices for appeal mods. Punky posts cute and funny, but is lacking in logic . Prodigy seems sometimes to type random things without thinking.

I voted for Viruzzz, who seems like a great guy. Also Freak3yman84, who I know is a moderator on another forum

Re: Vote to select the new appeal moderator

Every person who has volunteered for this position deserves nothing but praise.

It is not easy to be involved in a week-long poll, or to agree to take on a responsibility such as this for the forum. Regardless of the outcome, I'm grateful to every person who volunteered.

It is one thing to say it is commendable to put yourself forward, but quite another - and rather an illogical thing - to say that you are thereby exempt from criticism. In fact, is the whole point of the vote not to compare the strengths and weaknesses of the different candidates and therefore to subject them to criticism?

Some of these candidates prove on a daily basis to be heavily biased. They serve their purpose on the forum and often do so with a misplaced sense of humor. But that does not mean they are fit for the job.

I just checked the votes and you voted for 8 out of the 10 candidates - surely, unless you voted for the sake of it, it means that you can't be that displeased with the list, seen as how it contains no less than 8 people (80%) that you consider 'fit for the job'.

By the same token, there are people who consider some of those 8 'not fit for the job', while they consider the other two fit. That's why it'd have been highly illogical to 'weed out' unfit posters, because that's a highly subjective opinion - I'm sure you could find at least one person (probably more) who'd consider each of the 10 candidates 'unfit'. Each different voter has different parameters of what they consider 'fit for the job', hence why including every applicant in the poll is the right decision.

MTF games titles:

Suicide Tennis (5): Wimbledon 2014, World Tour Finals 2015, Madrid 2015, Kuala Lumpur 2014 and Metz 2015 - 1 Slam, 1 WTF, 1 Masters 1000, 2 ATP 250; 2 finals lost

Fill-in-the-Draw (3): US Open 2014, Rotterdam 2013 and Geneva 2015 - 1 Slam, 1 ATP 500 and 1 ATP 250

Tennis Tipping (3): Veneza and Todi 2014 (with vn01), Knoxville 2015 (with Redkop) - 3 challengers; 7 finals lost

Re: Vote to select the new appeal moderator

Gah... I'm sorry to all the other people here but a mod needs to be: Sensible, Un-Biased, not have too many bans. I could go into detail why some of these people shouldn't be on this list, but that is a waste of time.

Really Virruzz should get this. Dude does not hate, he can look at things from both sides and is well liked.

Lenders if you do get this, I hope you understand you would have to shed certain traits if you want to be a mod.

If you have an issue with a report/infraction, a user, a moderator or just want to talk, PM me.

I support Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, David Ferrer, Del Potro.

Why? Because I love tennis plain and simple
