What was the reason for not allowing the appeal moderator to appeal for previously permabanned users?

Because they are permanently banned.

Re: Ask MTF Mods

Yesterday I opened a thread called "Potential early upsets RG" (Potential early upsets RG). After several posts, it was closed. Could a moderator let me know why it was closed? (I'm assuming it's because draws are not out yet, but the intent was just to base predictions off of recent form)

Re: Ask MTF Mods

Yes, it can be re-opened once the draw is release. Feel free to PM me about that at that time.

Re: Ask MTF Mods

Yes, they are, obviously. But goldenoldie does not have a say in permabanned posters appeals, obviously. They go straight to the mods.

There, question answered for you, lol.

Re: Ask MTF Mods

Why is my "Which vulture will go farthest in Roland Garros" Thread not there anymore? To be honest, it wasn't a trolling thread. I was asking legit questions. I got a whole load of good-reps for it too.

Is it because I have to wait until the draw comes out to make such threads? If so, could it be reopened at that time? I don't want to do the whole thing again.

Re: Ask MTF Mods

(3) Make sure the thread you are about to start is worthy of discussion and is related to tennis. The fact that this forum is called "General Messages" does not mean that anything goes here.

(ii) Do not start threads with the sole intention of bashing a player. E.g. "player X is a loser", or "player Y is a choker", or "I hate player Z". Conversely, threads made solely to praise your favorite player (e.g. "I love player X”, “Player Y is the best ever”) are better fit for the player's own forum.

Yes, according to the new rules (in the site-wide rules thread) they can appeal their permanent ban within a week of being permanently banned. It's just like with any ban or infraction.

But users who were permanently banned before the new rules came into place can't rely on it; so they can't apply through the appeal mod, etc.
