Well I'm not happy with those type of threads and I closed it anyway.

Re: Ask MTF Mods

That's not entirely fair. The people implying Nadal faked his injury should also be held accountable.

Almost everyone is acting a damn mess tonight

Re: Ask MTF Mods

I think the moderation is becoming a bit hyperactive. Why should anyone care about "lack of respect"? Are we all back at school or something?

Really I think the only reasons for deleting threads should be either grossly offensive topics (we could debate how to define this, obviously), legally actionable defamation, libel etc., or threats to people or their privacy.

Even then, selective deletion of individual posts seems more appropriate, because often people take time to make reasonable posts, which are then swept away along with the dross, and there isn't even any notification that this has happened.

What thread was deleted without good reason? Can you remember a description about it?

Well, there were two threads just deleted relating to the issue of possible gamesmanship relating to injuries.

I know that such threads are on the margins of acceptability, but seriously cannot see how they could be legally actionable. After all, we are just speculating on people's motives, which cannot be known.

In the end, it is just a bit of banter: not the highest expression of tennis ideals, but ultimately harmless fun.

Edit: Also, I was replying to the previous posts complaining about the "would Wawrinka have won without Rafa's injury" thread, and remarking upon the fact that the thread was closed, and the counterclaim complaining about the Rafa injury threads, which seems to have been acted upon also (thread deletions).

Yes, we have that sentence on GM rules since years.. Do not start a thread to bash a player and they was never allowed. There is nothing new about it.

Is there any chance of small picture sigs being allowed in the future? I mean on smaller forums than this it does not cost for the privellage and I am not sure why we have to pay?

Re: Ask MTF Mods

How do I pm viruzzz?

I recieved a yellow infraction for.... player bashing......

So I was readin over a few threads, as I do and as I was skimming over and filtering out all the troll bot mumbo jumbo, I came across this highly interesting post.

i read a promo of a crime story book written by a polish tennis agent (who works with some big names) and although the plot is fictional, some marketing tricks are revealed in there, and i guess this fits in. especially that jerzy as well is pulling a lot of this "i am so injured" stuff. so after hopman cup Panfil says "i improved my tennis because the off season practises with Janowicz gave me so much" and then JJ says he couldn't hit on court at all after Paris, only did gym work. either quotes are manipulated by journalists or one of these two guys is not correct

i'd take all these champion sudden injuries when they're getting trashed with some distance (i do believe rafa wasn't in full health though due to blisters, they truly looked awful, which ofc didn't prevent him from trashing Fed any way he pleased)
Youve got to say what this bird is saying is consistent with Jerzy Janowicz and Janko Tipsarevic's antics.... both whom which strike me (I dunno about you) extremely materialistic and in concern about their wealth and image. Nadal isn't materialistic and he doesn't really need to be in concern about his wealth or image, however, it does make you wonder.......... Nadal started feigning the injury once already a set and also what was seemingly looking like two breaks down.....

Discuss.....
This is no way player bashing and I am 90% sure the moderator / administrator that's taken action is that of a Nadal fan.

It would be fair to say Moderators and Administrators are in position to be impartial, not bias towards a favourite player or player they hold a soft spot for. I am not accusing anybody of doing this but I am 90% sure that only a hardened Nadal fanatic would "interpret" this sort of post as in any remote way player bashing.

Now I would seriously like the moderator team to explain me their interpretation of why this player bashing and/or how this could be interpreted as player bashing. I don't see it and quite frankly, I find it disgusting that MTF is being ruled by fans rather than people whom are inplace to mediate.

I haven't seen viruzzz's post's around here anywhere so am unable to contact him to make a formal appeal. Would a modeartor please be able to guide me in this direction and also explain to me their take on whether this is player bashing? As I really cannot see for the life of me how contemplating the possibility of a player faking an injury in order to protect their image is bashing the player himself.

Re: Ask MTF Mods

1) I'm getting tired of that one day we all are Federer fans, another day we are Nadal fans. It's just getting laughable.

2) I think if you can create threads and answers for PMs, PMing viruzzz (our appeal mod) isn't impossible for your abilities.

3) This thread is still not for these type of posts so I won't even answer more.

P.S.: We all work on different way. If you don't see viruzzz's posts, he can be still active. I tell you he was active even today.

Never ever give up

'Nadal feigning injury to enhance his image & market his brand.' title was enough to read for me, though. Say what you want.

I want to discuss this in a formal manner.

http://www.menstennisforums.com/showthread.php?t=400241

Would you be able to answer the points I've put across inside this thread here?

You're saying the title was enough to read for you. Well explain what you mean? This discretion you're taking is led from what interpretation? The actual words are not directly or even indirectly player bashing. It is player questioning.

Re: Ask MTF Mods

And creating a thread which was deleted by us is also against rules. If you keep that and want to play with my nerves, you don't reach anything but banning yourself.

Sonja is right, this thread is not intended for this purpose. I shouldn't respond, but...I'm going to give you a straight answer, even though I don't think it will get us anywhere. I know many mods have spoken to you, and you seem to ignore everything we say.

Obviously, your warning wasn't about a particular post, it was about the thread. You can't make a thread titled "Nadal feigning injury to enhance his image." It is speculation, conspiracy, and it can't be posted as fact. It's pretty clearly right there in the rules. I would personally be happy that I got a warning for player bashing, because the alternative would have been a red card for forum disruptions/baiting, which would have resulted in yet another ban.

(18) Do not start threads or make posts or reps that make serious allegations about a player that can not be substantiated with independent and cast-iron evidence.

Clutch, you have to understand that there's a reason you're quickly gathering so many infractions. I think it's absurd that you put all the blame on the mods, the people reporting your posts, etc. You are constantly baiting people, name-calling, belittling other posters, fighting and arguing, OFTEN IN CAPS, for paragraphs at a time. Your posts are constantly reported, and the mods have no conspiracy against you. We simply take action on a case to case basis, and you break the rules very often. Sorry.
