Re: Ask MTF Mods

thanks, not long ago someone claimed there's a very short limit, something likes 5-10, I guess he was just trolling then.

I too sometimes don't notice some WWW or results thread and I open one myself.
When I remember a thread on the same subject opened recently or whitin the last months I simply link it in the new thread and Mods will merge the two in most cases.
Was only curious on the matter. WWW threads are something opened often. But I was asking this after I noticed someone opened a new thread about a 2 year-old article which should have been mandatory to search for first. Obviously, a banning for such things would be way too severe. Dialogue is the only thing needed here, maybe users don't know how to use the search feature. Used the word "warning" not as "infraction warning", but as "notification".

And thanks for the answer, Sham and Sonja.

Re: Ask MTF Mods

Perhaps the fact that the Moderator team has changed since then is the explanation.

Re: Ask MTF Mods

I got that red card from Sonja, as far as I know she's still very active on the forum giving reds left and right to people she doesn't like.

it got deleted now, I'd be very curious to know if the guy got a red card, motivation: Cleaopatra is a special user.

Re: Ask MTF Mods

Here is a bunch of questions.

Why have Q&A threads towards Sweet Cleo been deleted and a red card given? It's not in the rules, is it?

Unless Sweet Cleo has personally asked for the threads to go down, I see no reason for deletion in the rules. And no rules ask for a red card about it either.

Re: Ask MTF Mods

I told you the reasoning provided by Sonja: Cleopatra is a special user.
I wonder where the list of special users can be found published here on the forum.

I can only tell you my reasoning - if the user is ok with that, then the thread is fine, however if it's against the user's wishes, then it's pretty much a sort of harassment/personal attack, and that is covered by the rules.

“There’s so many athletes, tennis players around the world,” he continued, trying to put his life into some kind of perspective, “they want to be the best in what they do. They want to succeed. Many of them, they don’t succeed in the end. I’m fortunate to have this opportunity and succeed.”

So, Sweet Cleo is against it, has not spoken so in either of the threads in question, yet users have received red cards for it? It is not against any of the 20 rules to start an innocent thread on behalf of a forum member that does not harass or provoke the member.

totally false, in my case the user SC filled no complain on my thread and it got deleted minutes after it was made.
same thing happened today, SC is not even online at the moment, yet Kowchi's thread has been deleted.

Exactly, I had provided plenty of examples of Q&A threads opened on behalf of another user and they are still well and alive.

Re: Ask MTF Mods

Motorhead - If you want to discuss your concerns here, PM an admin or supermod and we'll discuss it with you to whatever length you like. This thread isn't for lengthy discussions about specific events that happen around the forum. In answer to this-

The action(s) taken by moderators with regards to posts or threads created by members is between moderators' and that member. But, again give us a PM and we can go into further detail. Let's have nothing else on this topic please.

Re: Ask MTF Mods

There has come into being some new options on the right-hand side menu. Is there any difference between "Search" and "Advanced search"? They seem identical to me.
