New subforum?

I think there might be enough threads to open a new subforum, that would deal with hypothetical tennis - imaginary matchups and all the this vs that comparisons, etc. Nearly every page in GM has one or few of these threads, so maybe they could finally get a place of their own

“There’s so many athletes, tennis players around the world,” he continued, trying to put his life into some kind of perspective, “they want to be the best in what they do. They want to succeed. Many of them, they don’t succeed in the end. I’m fortunate to have this opportunity and succeed.”

Re: New subforum?

I could really do without all those imaginary match ups threads myself so maybe it would be nice to have them in their own section so that way if you didn't want to see those kinds of threads you wouldn't have to! But I don't think that will happen myself

Yea, I'm not holding my hopes up high either, but these topics are among the most ridiculous ones on GM. It's one thing to have WWW when the match is being played tomorrow, and another to have that peak Santoro vs peak Tomic nonsense.

I've already PMed the mods about this a year ago, but it seems that there is no desire to really cut the filth out of GM.

Re: New subforum?

Traffic is important for this website so I suppose it's difficult to be really objective about moderating it.

The tennis.com forums are the highest quality boards strictly on tennis on the web. Older folks around there, so check that one out.

Re: New subforum?

They have a total listed of 4,992 registered users! And I'm sure like here not all users actually post to the forum. I could probably moderator that whole forum by myself. What I like about MTF is it is a large forum and there are a lot of interesting posters on here! So even if no one on the forum agrees with me about anything I'll keep my membership here. But thanks for the suggestion

I'll suggest it to the other mods but I'm not personally in favour of this idea.

Yea, I'm aware of that. Frankly, it would be the best to just zap some of those topics, but that idea would have even less fans

The posts in GM are of miserable quality. At least 90% of them. Some are actually spam but here the definition of it is a bit looser than in other places.

Imaginary match-ups sub-forum. I like it.

Could also use it for all the "what if" scenarios.

Re: New subforum?

Might have to do the same and just create a thread for all imaginary match ups/what if threads, dump them in there.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Well as you did mention traffic is important to this website so that probably does have a lot to do with why those threads are there. Even if you and I plus a few others don't like them far more posters do like them and will post in them. GM might be almost a ghost town if they were taken out of there!
