At least when we had roasting threads for all the top players, the vileness was kept in there and the match discussion could actually take place in (who would have thought?) the match result thread.

Now, the vileness has nowhere to outlet, and is spread all over GM, including of course match result threads.
First of all, I think people are all remembering the past with rose-tinted glasses - the match result threads were still full of crap while these threads were open - the haters did not post in the roasting threads cos they were - originally - light hearted and humourous. They still posted their crap in the match results threads.

Secondly, I will discuss the idea with the other mods and see what they think about it, it's not my decision exclusively.

Put them in off topic. Most of the stupider GM posters won't even see them

Excellent idea I fully support this.

Its about tennis Gambling. So it belongs to tennis betting section.

Just as this belongs to soccer section
Bloodletting's football thread

Tennis Experts clearly belongs to tennis section.

And there is no possible discussion about it.

Please put it back now.

Oh you want it in tennis betting in GL? Fine, as long as it stays in GL I really don't care where it lives.

Do you really expect the situation will get better when the roasting threads will be back? Do you think that the crap which is being spread all over GM will stop then and people will only use the roasting threads to bash a player?

The roasting threads were fun a few years ago but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't work these days on the forum as people would post in there not with the light-hearted spirit which the threads had when - just to name 2 of the "legendary" pioneers from then - Adam or RonE were around.

Today you just know what to expect when certain people enter a thread. They post the same thing over and over again which has already been said 1 000 000 times.

I don't know what a good solution could be to make MTF a better place and apparently the mods also don't know. In the end it is up to us users anyway to make the best out of the forum but it's understandable when people don't want to post a meaningful thread on GM when it gets buried within half an hour to the 2nd page.

Right now you couldn't recommend MTF to any tennisfan you would meet at a tournament or get to know elsewhere.

Doris Thanks for your rep the other day.

RonE and Adam were super mean I agree with you, there are several posters who wouldn't take the threads in the spirit they were intended. them. That's why we should hide them in off topic.

i agree 100% with this.

now the current mod strategy seems to be, delete all posts/threads which can potentially lead into a troll-war. this does not work at all. long-time members feel snubbed because the threads which were fun and which were going for years are closed without explanation. and the trolling just goes on in the other threads. in the long run every thread turns more or less the same, a good example is the djokovic-nadal match thread from yesterday - went crap after 4 pages.

And I think that there should be some ways to keep the result threads in GM clean from trolling. I've read that trolling on MTF is against the rules so the usual suspects who are repeatedly doing that in the result threads shoud be warned.

Otherwise, scoobs can do what he wants. He's the boss

Also bring back the Nadull vs God thread.

One of the best threads in the history of this forum and I've received countless good reps because of it.
