That was a great advice.
Does this have any negative consequences on my pc- like spyware or so?
Glad to help, glad it worked.
not at all, in fact the opposite, it will prevent things from getting onto your computer and getting your information because it prevents the background scripts from running without you noticing. I find the web loads faster in general and it makes no greater difference anywhere than with MTF b/c of all the ads here
Once you get used to the small pain of figuring out which scripts to allow to make websites work properly, it's a great asset to firefox IMO.
there's also another one called adblocker which I guess is helping MTF Work ok for people too.
edit: someone in GM posted this, maybe it will help the IE users
I have dial-up and I find that this site loads very quickly if I set it as restricted under tools, internet options, security, restricted sites, in IE. Some months ago the ads were changed that slowed it down so much that I set it on restricted, and it seems to keep them from even bothering trying to load so the page comes up immediately. I generally keep all sites on restricted that will work that way, prevents ads and even viruses from jumping on. Some sites won't load at all on restricted, but most will, as long as they're not flash/shockwave-based.
