Re: Advertisements in middle of page

Well...there's a "remove advertisements" link over on the right of the ads....maybe we should use it....

Oops....we have to register in basketballforum.com

Edit: I think that a petition thread by all premium members will solve this...

Steve said about the new memberships back then that a banner- and ad-free site would not be possible for premium members. I guess this meant that we all had to endure it no matter what our status was. But this doesn't change the fact that I also agree that premium members deserve much better, not seeing these ads.

I hope there is something coming in the future soon

I was just going to say. Why are we taken to the basketball forum when we click on "remove advertisements"? When I click on something called "remove advertisements" I'm assuming I'm removing unwanted advertisements and not being sent to a basketball forum.

I thought the same thing. Good point to make.

At what stage in their upgrading was this? Because I distinctly remember not seeing any ads for quite a while after I paid for premium membership.

"What kind of shape am I in now? Well round is a shape." said Roddick with a laugh. "I had a very detailed retirement plan, and I feel like I've met every aspect of it: a lot of golf, a lot of carbs, a lot of fried food, and some booze, occasionally — I've been completely committed ... The results have shown."

Re: Advertisements in middle of page

When the new premium accouts were created with the new pay structure etc, they did never promise an ad-free experience. but there has to be SOME incentive for people to pay besides more PM space and bigger avs, and I don't think anyone could possibly have envisioned the level of advertising that would start appearing on the site. Surely there can be some kind of compromise like greatly reduced ads and if nothing else, no ads within threads/posts. This is ridiculous.

About half a year ago: Redesign Bugs

In 2007 I only remember for one or two weeks no ads during the redesign of the site. Before, late 2005 until some time in 2006 before the forum switched to Verticalscope there was indeed a long period which offered priority access and no ads for premium members. I also remember this.

Re: Advertisements in middle of page

It's obvious that Verticalscope is a serious company which only cares about money and if the ads make more money for them then nothing will change.

However, if less people see the ads and click on the ads then this means less money and that's an incentive to remove the ads.

Just some useful information here
