Re: Week 36: Istanbul

That is a really strong challenger draw if there aren't too many withdrawals there! When a player inside the top 100 is only barely being seeded at 8 then it must be a tough field.

Andy Murray, Jonny Marray
Jamie Baker, Ross Hutchins, Richard Bloomfield, Colin Fleming
Roddick, Goffin, Karlovic, Inglot, Isner
Brown, Brands, Tsonga

Several players (Rain man, Murray, Clement) are still very much playing in NY.

Mmm. Looks like there will be quite a few withdrawals after all

The winner of Clement-Murray would surely be out as they'd play the 3rd round of the Open on sunday and the loser could well rest after 5 matches in the New York heat.
As you say Schuettler's still involved in singles too.
Justin Gimelstob's involved in mens and mixed doubles so might well not play and Michael Llodra's in the mens doubles also.
Didn't Bohdan Ulihrach pull out of the US Open lists? If so he might not be fit to play either.

That's 6 possible withdrawals. On the positive side that would mean players like Sela, Roger-Vasselin and Heuberger would be in

Andy Murray, Jonny Marray
Jamie Baker, Ross Hutchins, Richard Bloomfield, Colin Fleming
Roddick, Goffin, Karlovic, Inglot, Isner
Brown, Brands, Tsonga

Re: Week 36: Istanbul (TURKEY)

Gimelstob isn't going, so there's another one in from the alternate list.

Best twitter posts of the epic match:

@dougrobson - Whoever is supplying Mahut with hair gel needs to ink a sponsorship deal now.

@Wimbledon - FYI, with @Wimbledon live scoring devices, please add 50 to the games in the fifth set of the Isner v Mahut match.

@HolterMedia - Nice to see that a three-day test has come to tennis here @wimbledon.
