Re: Quest for #1

I've heard a lot about Rochus but don't know a thing about him. What kind of game does he have? He's short so I assume he's fast?

I figured that - b/c of his height he'd have to be fast to make up for it lol. Hopefully Andy will be no match for him

Usually it's phrased the other way around lol. Hopefully Oliver will be no match for Andy. (You make it sound like you want Andy to lose). heh

Re: Quest for #1

ohhhhhhh no no I don't want Andy to lose!!!!! I just wanted to know a little about Rochus's game since I've heard of him. But you're right I did mess up the 'no match' business. I was really tired last night Thanks for correcting me lol. Olivier will hopefully be no match for Andy

Yep...... and the CR lead, and a nice lead-in on carpet to TMS Paris!

David is going to be really tough. He's obviously all better and fired up and just going out there and taking care of business. Andy clearly played better today - didn't get broken (or even have a BP against him from what I could tell anyway), pressured Rochus on most of his games, etc. But Rochus ain't no Nalbandian and I think Andy's perfect 3-0 record against him is irrelevant going in, except for the experience he has. He knows how to play him and I'm sure Brad studied the match REALLY closely. Hopefully Andy's good match today sets him up nicely to really turn up the intensity tomorrow and play a great match.

With the imperfect entry system in the back of our
minds...here's the Paris Draw--it stinks too. See how lucky Federer is without meeting Nalbandian early.

Very true. All those are factors on why Andy should win, although the extra title count is important to me lol. Plus, I get to add to my siggy! LOL

yeah Paris draw does stink, BUT remember Andy has had much tougher draws than this and got through them. i think its better to have tough draws because Andy knows he's gotta play well to win, and in the past 3 months thats what he's been doing. remember the US Open draw, people were CREAMING their pants over a possible Roddick 1st round exit, but that didnt happen now did it. and the Madrid draw, looked wide open up to the semis, and look at what happened. all i'm saying is that Andy will surely be focused in Paris because he knows hes gotta do something goood there, and i think we can count on him to do well at Houston since hes the best outdoor hardcourt player this year, and it helps as well that hes got a pro US crowd backing him up. but anyways GO ANDY win these next 2 matches, reclaim your top spot which should be yours, and keep the pressure on the other 2. and oh yeah a 7th title this year(calender surface sweep ), and a 12th overall wouldn't be all that bad either. good luck Andy

Re: Quest for #1

OH I'd never underestimate Andy. He's gotta get through tomorrow first though which is going to be difficult the way David has played this week. Obviously Federer withdrawing would help him, assuming he gets that far. But by no means will it be easy and I wouldn't expect it to be. TMS events certainly seem to be harder to win than Grand Slam because only the top people even get in so there are high-quality matches from the getgo.

I also worry just a little because Andy tends to have a lot of trouble on the Europe indoor circuit. I hope hope hope he gets past that this year in both Basel and Paris but it's just the way it is. We just have to have faith in Andy's tennis, motivation, and determination and he'll be fine.

Ultimately, Andy has had an amazing season and whatever happens happens. Obviously we want the best to happen, but if not pretty much the worst Andy can do is end up at #2 and that's pretty damn good. I'd like to be #2 in the world at something!
