Me too natural, but I think he will take his training seriously, for him to be out so long, he needs to get in good shape too. And who knows, maybe he will just deciede to come back and play real tennis again.

I think he will get into great shape almouchie, he will need to do so, he has been out too long not to do so.

His sister work at UCLA, so he goes there to train.

Im just really greedy... I really think it would be a dream for the great one to come back and win the french, I mean to do it now at this age, it would make a bigger statement than if he won it in 1996 and then had a bad record thereafter on clay. Because it would say "Hey i was just too foccussed on my number 1 rankin and wimbledon to try my all at wimbledon, some other things are too important" and also "He could do it all along he just put too much pressure on himself"

Re: How do u think Pete is getting ready to get back to court

Well See when I watched the match against Ginepri I woulda agreed with u, But i just watched the matches against Rusedski and Roddick and right now Schalken at the 02 USO, and even though Petey was inspired to win this big one, to make the last push, he was still struggling a bit at times to get inspired, he had to pump himself into it alot, when he did he simply outclassed them even though he was only using 1/2 of what he had in his prime (Even less at times), but the point was that as inspired as he was, at times he seemed like he was having trouble finding a reason to rise up and destroy them when required, like he just wasnt fully into it all of the time. Thats why I dunno if hed really wanna come back, he just didnt seem to have all his heart into it 100% of the time like he did in his youth. He seemed very tired especially.

Re: How do u think Pete is getting ready to get back to court

A recent interview with Thomas "Hitman" Hearns, one of the best boxers of the 1980s, concluded that he was only returning to the ring at the age of 47 to avenge famous defeats at the hands of Marvin Hagler and Sugar Ray Leonard.

Dr McNamee said, "You have to admire a commitment to excellence that is so great that who he most remembers is not a great career but two blemishes. You would say that Hearns is lacking balance."

You posted this in another forum. Now I think Pete doesnt ask for much, cos he just simply wanted to achieve his goals regardless of how he did it and regardless of how many losses he suffered along the way. I dont know if He will remove the SINGLE blemish on his career which is the French Open. Its not Whether he CAN comeback, it is a matter of WILL he, Does he WANT to come back, and I dont think he wants to even consider it simply. I would love to be as positive as you when u said that u dont think he is finished and will do something great, but I just cant believe it because I dont think HE WANTS TO put his heart into it.

Re: How do u think Pete is getting ready to get back to court

Pete is definitely out of the pro game ATP level
he had that life done all he can & he is very proud of all he did
he isnt obssessed with French that he would want to at 35 come back & play pro
& do himself some bad.
He quit on top & only a few handful in any sports can do that.
To resist the temptation of playing any tournament after the US Open 2002 as the champions, that shows u the mental of that man & player
I wish all the success in any capacity he chooses to play tennis be it at WTT of later maybe in Seniors tour.
I have a feeling he would to be in the best physical position ahead of the July matches

Re: How do u think Pete is getting ready to get back to court

THat hurts to think of that Almouchie... I guess we fans want it more than Petey.. I guess wat annoyed me was that when it comes to calling him the greatest ever, the strongest point brought up in arguments is "he never won on clay look at his record at RG he couldnt even win more than one clay title too"... That saddens me because for a man who had results to do all the talkin for his talent, his results at the french never justified just how good he was and the fact that he COULD win on ANY SURFACE!!! I just still believe he could win at the French whereas i dont think the same goes for Andre... If pete had the same off court training regime as Andre He would be in the proper shape to come back and win the french i believe. Thats why i get so down about him not winning it. I know we should learn to let go but I dont let go very easily, destiny was extremley cruel to the greatest ever.

Re: How do u think Pete is getting ready to get back to court

andre is a form player always was & always will
pete sampras on the other hand was a natural athlete
he didnt have to do as much as many others to be in top shape
he was on few players who knew who to conserve his energy
beside agassi had missed a considerable amount of time in his mid career
& 2 yrs slump
he didnt burn as much as pete did
he has been playing injured for several years, i dont know why
