He'll be playing Adrian Mannarino. Piece of cake. I watched Mannarino play RRH in Miami and he has real potential but doesn't seem to have the heart or stamina.

VAMOOOOOOOOOOOSSHHHH David.

It's being filmed by cameramen (obviously it's staged)- but since David is all smiles in it...I had to share it. Take care
Iram, I know it was for Edda but I watched it too. Worst two actors ever. But great video and nice of them to coordinate outfits.

Good luck, David! They showed David in the stands watching Juan Carlos's match. Too bad Juanqui lost. He was doing so well. I like David and Juan Carlos (and Rafa, too) because they are not only good-looking, but also very nice men.

can't agree more! I never thought David and JC had so great friendship. They trained together, took the metro together, I'm not sure if they also play PlayStation together
Besides David, my favourite player is Nicolas Almagro. But it's a shame he couldn't manage even one match in Madrid and thus he'll lose his Rk. 9 this week.
Vamos! the Spainish guys!

Maybe David had a rough night? Because he should be kicking Mannarino ass. And from what I can tell he's just taken his finger out.

he totally fell apart in the final set very strange match from David but I think he remembered he had a football match to go watch so he raced through the 3rd set to win 7-5 0-6 6-0

Re: Madrid TMS 2011

Ferrer Survives Scare In Opener

World No. 6 David Ferrer, who has been one of the most form players of the European clay swing, survived a scare in his opening second-round match at the Mutua Madrid Open Tuesday, beating French qualifier Adrian Mannarino 7-5, 0-6, 6-0.

The Spaniard came into the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 clay-court tournament on the back of runner-up finishes at Monte-Carlo and Barcelona (l. to Nadal both times), but was shocked as Mannarino pushed him close in the first set and then broke serve three times to level the match with a bagel. Ferrer responded in the decider, though, winning six straight games to claim victory in one hour and 54 minutes.

The 29-year-old Ferrer, a winner of two ATP World Tour titles this season in Auckland (d. Nalbandian) and Acapulco (d. Almagro), improved to a 26-6 match record on the season.

As I said before, Mannarino just doesn't have the stamina to play a complete match at his best level. When he plays well though ..... he plays really fantastic tennis. I think Adrian needs to join me in the gym.

There was no need for David to rush and watch another one of that pathetic theatre which supposedly is world clash footie. Real's acting, kicking and pushing is contagious and they made everything I love about Barca's game disappear. Awful behavior by both teams.

Anyway, yipperdeewoohaa for David's win!

Though off topic, I agree with u Linda...all these classicos totally messes up Spains NT's united morale. Too many arguments and "theatrical" soccer is no fun.

On to what this thread is about...Thank God David woke up in the 3rd set. I was honestly getting worried. Hopefully next match will be much more comfortable.

Re: Madrid TMS 2011

I was nervous when I saw that second set score! Thank goodness David won! I really like him. Vamos, Ferru!

I wish all the best for Ferru and Rafa. I hope to see another meeting between the two in the final.

Re: Madrid TMS 2011

okay, this is a much better video than the one I had posted earlier. Both guys are talking in English and smiling. And footage is longer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEXAr...el_video_title
