My "spy" in Båstad - yes I have them everywhere - tells me David was having fun today He was playing in some kind of charity event with Tommy R. and J-C Ferrero against some Swedish players - it was for a kids' charity I believe - sorry - don't have all the details. He doesn't play til Tuesday so he can have an extra day off tomorrow! Vamos David

Re: Back to the Clay...........Cheering for David in Båstad, Stuttgart and Umag

Rain stopped play with David leading 5-3 in the 1st set Why did all those other matches like Acasuso/Coria take so long Poor David

OK - ignore that - they've started again - only a short delay, though other courts seem still to have stopped

Re: Back to the Clay...........Cheering for David in Båstad, Stuttgart and Umag

David won 6-4, 6-3 Seems like a strange match - the other matches were postponed for rain - and poor sweet David kept on playing and playing and playing...............so congrats to him! Of course - being the sad soul that I am, I spent most of the time worrying if dear Javi was cold and wet and miserable in the audience in the rain - and if he needed a Ah well - glad for the result - off to eat now!

Yeah David.
Rosie, I'm sure Javi was fine. How can he be miserable when his pupil is winning?
Back to bed now or maybe I'll try the couch, just curious to find out about David's match.

Re: Back to the Clay...........Cheering for David in Båstad, Stuttgart and Umag

Well the score was actually 6-4, 6-4.........my bad! I robbed Al Ghareeb of a game Scoreboard got stuck for ages and then said David was the winner 6-4, 5-3 - so I got confused! Haven't heard or read any match reports yet apart from the fact that it was drizzling the whole time - how pleasant And - yes - I'm sure Javi was fine - just me being over protective of him! Hope you feel better soon

Re: Back to the Clay...........Cheering for David in Båstad, Stuttgart and Umag

It rained most of the day here. But luckily it had cleared up when I was done teaching so the drive home wasn't too bad.

David's a trooper. A little rain wouldn't stop him from playing his game.

Next up is Soderling I believe and then quite possibly Almagro in the QFs.

I have heard that too.

In Bastad however, Robin Soderling is next in line for an asskicking from David.
