Question Is David blowing off the grass season?

He's not on the entry lists for any of the 4 lead up tournaments to Wimbledon.

Please don't tell me he's fashioned himself as the new Gaudio.

I don't want to sound rude but I can't help but adding that i totally agree with Gaston's choice about the grass season.. look at David actual state and wonder if it won't be a good decision for him too...

Re: Is David blowing off the grass season?

I totally agree wth Elea. Grass is not a good surface for David - his main surface is clay, and if he's lost the opportunity to gain points in this Spring part of the season, then his best chance to make up ground is to be healthy for the Summer clay court swing in Stuttgart, Kitzbuehel etc. So if he chooses to rest for a few weeks over the ghastly grass court season (go home, see his family etc) then I don't blame him and think it's a good decision.

Re: Is David blowing off the grass season?

I was hoping he would go to Nottingham like he did a couple of years ago but I suppose he is higher enough ranked to ask for a wild card if he changes his mind. It would make more sense to skip Hamburg & the world team cup & rest the shoulder before Roland Garros.
My boyfriend is so happy that David now agrees with him that he has a problem mentally!!

Re: Is David blowing off the grass season?

Personally I don't favor one surface over any other. And since he missed the warm up events on grass last year and lost 1st round at Wimby (all due to back injury sustained during RG QFs against Rafa) I would think it'd be a good opportunity to actually pick up some points, esp. since he's lost quite a lot by losing 1st round in Roma.

Also, Spainards can play on grass, for example Moya beat the Poo during DC finals in Melbourne on it and then reached the 4th round of Wimbledon next year.
