Talking The Javier 'Javi' Piles Appreciation Thread

I'm starting to get worried. Last week during Rotterdam I didn't see him on the live stream during David's matches and so far he's not been in any of Sjoukje's pictures either.

Is David travelling with a different coach now? And if so, who is it and why?

Re: Where is Javi? Has anyone seen him?

Hmmmm....I guess if there'd been a break-up we'd have heard something about it from the Spanish press? Maybe Javier has had the flu as well and been tucked up in bed?

The search for Javi is ON !!!

I agree with Sue if they had parted ways it would have been reported somewhere especially as David always refers to Javier has his second father.

Re: Where is Javi? Has anyone seen him?

Thanks for helping Sjoukje but that "coach" is definitely not Javier Piles.

Maybe you are right Sue, maybe he's sick and stayed home in Spain but David might have caught his flu from him.

Eléa has talked to him before and he's stared me down a couple of times. Anyhow, he's tall, trim, left handed, and handsome like our David but he's a bit older of course.

This will turn into the Javi appreciation thread if we manage to find him.

I have this theory that coaches are more attractive than players anyway - possibly because I'm older than most players and more of-an-age with the coaches So I will be into a Javi Appreciation Thread!!

I may be completely wrong but I am sure Javier was watching Marat Safin's match with Igor Andreev!

That would seem possible as Javi was Igor's travelling coach for Montreal/Cincy/New Haven/USO last year.

Anyone have any pics of David's 'second father'?

Isa, check David's website for pictures of Javi. I haven't checked the photolink yet, but I'm sure there must be some of him there. If not you can send them and email and ask them to open a Javi-link.(or his own website maybe?)

Re: The Javier 'Javi' Piles Appreciation Thread

There is an article on the main forum about coaching during a match, well basically it says David was warned for coaching during one of his matches & it mentions Javier, so he is there.

Re: The Javier 'Javi' Piles Appreciation Thread

Yeah, ESPN2 commentators Carillo and Drysdale mentioned he got a coaching sanction during the match with Oli.

And during today's match Javi was talking again and the umpire called to get a Mexican lineperson down on that end.

Re: The Javier 'Javi' Piles Appreciation Thread

Several times the ESPN2 cameramen scanned over to Javi. And I recorded the match on DVD.
