David in Rotterdam

David has to play his first round match against Ivo Minar. They have never played against each-other before.

VAMOS DAVID

Yeah, hopefully David will be well rested from his week off. I'm making paella tonight - bought plenty of saffron rice at the grocery - hopefully that will do the trick.

A lot of the dangerous players have already withdrawn - Federer, Safin, Gasquet, etc.

More paella?! Let's hope it "helps" David in Rotterdam! VAMOS, DAVID!

Did you know that David is sort of a rep for the COSTA BLANCA tourist office? He is proud to represent his area for his country! Wonder if he's on any promotions there... I like it!

Since June 2005 he's had a contract with Costa Blanca, to wear their patches on his competition shirts in exchange for 30,000 euros a year. I think maybe he's done a press conference or two but I haven't heard or seen anything else.

Nadal has also withdrawn now, can I jinx Ljubicic next?

Re: David in Rotterdam

Ljubo has already won 2 titles this year -- time for someone else to win one... someone who loves paella, lives in a gorgeous part of Spain, is now top 10 and could really use a title... anyone we know?

Re: David in Rotterdam

Davids first round singles match is not until tuesday.

He plays doubles tomorrow with Robin Vik against Fabrice Santoro and Nenad Zimonjic. Interesting match-up with Vik. Has he played with him before?

Anyway, VAMOS DAVID AND ROBIN

Re: David in Rotterdam

Isabel I think you have jinxed Ljubo, because he has withdrawn.

Are you getting tired of eating paella yet? We should find out what else David likes (and see if it "helps" him) just to let you change it up a little.

No, I'm not tired of paella yet.

David & Robin have won the 1st set 7-5. Vamos Chicos!

Tomorrow night David will play Minar, last match of the day.
