haa haa hee heeeeeeeee... sorry but I do find this so very funny... just a leettle lamb cutlet Dave???? I'd forgotten that "Big Dave" is supposed to like his grub...

Hmmm, just thinking what I could do with a few of those brilliant green-lipped mussels..a bit of garlic butter, a bit of chilli and wham! on the barbie! (plus a nice salad and a bit of decent bread) oooohhhh!

Oh but D and Albert lost their doubs 6-4 6-7(9): good practice huh?

Are you related to Nalbi? I love mussels btw so totally coming to that barbie you're throwing. I don't care what temperature it is over there.

David has never really been a doubs player. I remember the days when him and Robredo lost first round every tourney they played together .....

Thank you kind lady.

I vaguely remember the days when he actually won matches but like you say then he met Tommy at least they had fun even though they were pretty hopeless & of course they looked pretty on court

Re: Auckland Heineken Open - We all know David loves cerveza

Well - he won, after what looks like a bit of a fight - but D's nothing if not a fighter. Kohlschreiber today (I mean Thursday)....at least it's the first match at a "reasonable" time in the UK (11pm).I *think* TennisTV should show the match, otheriwse I'll try your link alisia.

Linda: not I'm not related to Nalby and the UK is not barbie-friendly right now

I think David probably plays doubs for practice more than anything else and a bit of fun perhaps? Mind you, he does have a couple of doubles titles, doesn't he? From his early days (with Santiago Ventura). Awww... David and Tommy on court together

Oh yes, belated Happy Birthday to Javi for the 9th.....

Re: Auckland Heineken Open - We all know David loves cerveza

Ferrer overcomes tough battle in Auckland

Top seed David Ferrer will face fellow former champion Philipp Kohlschreiber in the Auckland Open quarter-finals on Thursday after both survived tough second round matches.

Ferrer, the 2007 champion and current world number seven, needed almost 2-1/2 hours to beat rising German star Tobias Kamke 3-6 7-6 6-4, while Kohlschreiber was also forced to three sets before he prevailed 6-4 3-6 6-2 over Spain's Marcel Gronollers.

Ferrer was blown away in the first set in just 35 minutes by the 24-year-old Kamke, who won the ATP Tour's Newcomer of the Year award last year when he improved from 254th in the world to number 67.

Kamke fought hard in the second set, running the Spaniard ragged across the baseline but Ferrer managed to force a tiebreak, which he ran away with 7-1.

He then broke Kamke in the ninth game of the third set, and despite being 0-30 down while serving for the match, fought back to seal it with an ace and said he expected just as tough a match against Kohlschreiber.

"When I've played with Kohlschreiber it's a tough match. He plays with great power and he's difficult to play with in the rallies," Ferrer said.

"I need to be very focused and receive very good. I think it will be a very physical match."
