Yes, of course this is true. How could it be not?

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

I agree with the bold part. Chucho would have played if we had in the team another player instead of Del Potro (in fact, Chucho said that in an interview).

Mancini was thinking to play Juan Martín on Friday, instead of Chucho. So Acasuso would be fresh to play the doubles and on Sunday. But Del Potro told Mancini that he wasn't sure he was ready to play, considering he had never finished a 5 set match before.

Agree.

how come?

thanks, Willy, for the reply ...I think again Mancini was right even with Cañas choice...he is playing wonderful and focused tennis right now...He had just won Brasil on clay and he switched hard to clay so easy. Unbelievable.

Joachim Johansson won't play Davis Cup against Argentina, i think good news for Mancini's team.

Chucho won´t be in the team next tie. According to the press he decided it because "he thinks he is not in good conditions".
The team will be Nalbandian, Cañas, Del Potro and Prieto

Re: Chuuuuuuuuuuucho in Davis Cup, it's time to bring the Cup to Argentina

Maybe Chucho doesn't feel he is playing well enough and doesn't want to let down the team, but the problem is they will more than likely lose the doubles now.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Chuuuuuuuuuuucho in Davis Cup, it's time to bring the Cup to Argentina

The article says (and quotes a source close to Chucho) that he wants to rest because he has been playing since the final in Moscow and feels physically and mentally exhausted. It also says that he had to start the LA clay tournies late and tired and that could be noticed.
I don´t think he feels he´s playing his best tennis to play the tie, but resting and getting prepared for the European clay season is an important reason too. Anyway, I don´t think there´s any doubt about how important is DC for José.

Re: Chuuuuuuuuuuucho in Davis Cup, it's time to bring the Cup to Argentina

He and Orsa have planned to play less events, but it's a situation now where they might not have done enough base work and if he is tired mentally, then taking a break makes sense, whether we like it or not.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

He surely needs rest.

We just needed him for the doubles. Too bad.

As for Chucho in the doubles, this is where the problem that Calleri being injured again as he was a perfect replacement, but just means they will have to win 3 out of 4 singles.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Not impossible, I expect Nalbandian to get his act together for Davis Cup.

Cañas playing the doubles with Nalbandian shouldn't be ruled out.
