Re: Indian Wells & Miami (+ Sunrise!)

Here's what he said:
He's really disappointed to have completely messed up his match. He wasn't able to keep cool and to deal with the weather (it was very windy + the rain break). He was trying to be offensive, but he was lethargic, he wasn't feeling well.

So at least he's not injured or anything, he just had a very, very bad day at the office.

He's been having way too many bad days lately...

Re: Indian Wells & Miami (+ Sunrise!)

From Bricker:
"LOWLIGHT
Gael Monfils, who had an excellent tournament at the Sunrise Challenger last week, got no bounce out of his win in the final. He lost on Day 1 to qualifier Simone Bolelli, failing to capitalize on four break-point opportunities. Bolelli was hardly brilliant, hitting only 11 winners and stroking 21 unforced errors. But when you don't get broken, the only way to lose is in a tiebreak, and Monfils never got close to that."

It also is the "Quote of the day" in L'Équipe:
(I played a very shitty match, it was just bad.)

Oh dear. At this rate, I'll never get to see a complete Monfils match on TV or livestream. The closest I've been is half a match at the US Open.

His tatoos are not permanent. He's got three: some ethnic pattern, a tiger and... the Playboy bunny. "I thought it was just a rabbit, it looked great. Afterwards I was told it's the Playboy bunny..."

Gael and a Playboy bunny... How cute!
Didn't seem to get along with his biceps well, though.

Who knows, maybe other Frenchies have some bunnies on them as well.
