Post Rogers Cup - Montreal

Finally, we need some good news from seb to be refreshing...

singles:
first round he has to play against with Srichaphan, and probably second round vs Gasquet, and if lucky enough, 3rd round seed NO.1 Nadal...

doubles:
1st Rnd
(wc) Seb & Frederic Niemeyer(CAN) vs David Ferrer(ESP) & R. Gasquet

seb allez show time!

(about Sebastien Grosjean)...Close friend of fellow Frenchman Arnaud Clement and together they are considered among most affable players on tour...

Re: Rogers Cup - Montreal

Congratulate Seb and his fans with first victory in Montreal this year!
S. Grosjean def. P. Srichaphan 7-6(1) 3-6 6-2 . Srichaphan's ranking is so high also, he had some good matches in Washington... Great beginning!
Doubles match is also today, I hope Sebastien'll have some time for the rest.

Allez Sebastien!..

Re: Rogers Cup - Montreal

Well, Sebastien'd like to play in doubles with Gasquet but on this tounament he had to play against Richard...

Ferrer/Gasquet d (WC)Grosjean/Niemeyer 64 36 64

So he already has one lose to Gasquet and I wish him to take une revanche in singles today. ALLEZ SEBASTIEN!

Some photos from the match against Srichaphan are below.

Re: Rogers Cup - Montreal

Grosjean def Gasquet 7-6(5) 6-3!!

Grosjean Wins All-Frenchman Clash

August 10, 2005 - Sebastien Grosjean recovered from a 5-2 deficit in the first set to defeat countryman sensation Richard Gasquet 7-6(4), 6-3 and advance to the third round of the Rogers Cup in Montreal.

The rain interrupted the match with Gasquet leading 5-3 30-40 in the first set. Grosjean immediately converted the break point to get back in the match and used the momentum to win the first set i in a tie-break.

Grosjean hit a total of 10 aces while and the first break point he had in the second set. He held on to win in 1 hour, 46 minutes of play.

I'm so proud of Sebastien! He's demonstrated who is French number one
The next rival is Nadal. That would be not bad to beat him also lol ALLEZ SEBASTIEN!

Re: Rogers Cup - Montreal

YAY SEBASTIEN!!!! I'd always believe he can do well ^^ it just depends on his form! if he's in top form he can beat anybody with his forehands! For sebastien to win it always depends on his form :P which makes the match always interesting Have to say he's pretty easily broken at times lol but no doubt he's awesome at breaking back! YAY GO SEBASTIEN!!!! Nadal is going down~~~

Re: Rogers Cup - Montreal

(1)R Nadal (ESP) def S Grosjean (FRA) 6-4 6-4

But I see the match was sooo tough! Just look at statistics (Rafa-Seb):

1st serve 66%-69%
Aces on 1st serve 0-2
Points won on 1st serve 73%-76%
Aces on 2nd serve 0-0
Points won on 2nd serve 61%-44%
Receiving points won 34%-31%
Double faults 2-1
Break point conversations 2/5-0/5
Total points won 66-60

Seb was so close... At least that was a good match !
