Re: Seb's Come Back

The news in l'equipe today are more positiv. The tendons are ok, it's a lesion which created a pocket of blood. The doctor says him to serve only 70% and to improve progressively. Seb is happy cos he will be able to train again and if he's able to play 2/3 matches of train he will be back in Newport.

No wimbledon for him of course but he feels better and still wants to come back.

Re: Seb's Come Back

Thanks for all the info.

Seems the main courts were all rained off today, so Seb has yet to complete his match against Kevin Kim. There was a little article about the French playing in Newport with a couple of quotes from Seb:

Quote:
The strength of the field at the Campbell's Hall of Fame Championships is ironically dependent of the misfortune of the game's elite talents, and the shoulder injury that saw Sebastien Grosjean's world ranking plummet from a career-high No. 4 down to 514 has the 31-year-old Frenchman looking to get back in the swing of the American summer tour with as many matches as possible.

Thus, his first-ever visit to the Newport (R.I.) Casino.

"It looks nice, it's very British," said Grosjean, who has lived in Boca Raton, Fla., in 1999. Thanks to his injury, he didn't take his family back to France for June and July, so a wild-card entry at Newport made sense. "It was really tough in '08 because I played with pain in the shoulder. The end of the year, I sat with the doctor, and he said, 'If you want to play, you need the surgery.'"

Re: Seb's Come Back

He spend two days to finish that match cos of rain and strange orgazisation to finally retire after losing second set. I know he wants to come back but he's not able to play one match 6 month after the surgery. See him retire every tournaments is not possible.

Re: Seb's Come Back

If he can't complete two sets over 2 days, what hope do we have?
I really hope this isn't the end, but it is certainly seeming that way ...

Re: Seb's Come Back

It's a similar situation with Sharapova. If Seb really wants to come back, he can do it. It will just take a lot of determination and time, of which he's quickly running out of unfortunately.

I believe in him though.

Re: Seb's Come Back

The right shoulder again.

It was nice to see his name in a draw again at least. Fingers crossed for a better next time.

Re: Seb's Come Back

Poor him, it doesn't sound good at all...
In L'Equipe today:

It hurts as much as last year during the US Open. Exactly the same place. He sounds really downcast and worried since it seems the surgery and then all the rehab procedure he followed so scrupulously haven't helped. "I can't raise the arm anymore, it's not normal. It sucks." He will undergo some tests again in Paris on Monday.
