Re: Monte Carlo '08

karlo is not a clay specialist. It's better to play him inj monte carlo than in wimbledon.
Anyway every match is tough for seb.

He called for the trainer in the third set who massaged his left thigh. You could hear the trainer say there was not much he could do and that he should probably stop. Seb played the next game with difficulty and then retired. Practically identical to his last appearance at Monte Carlo (retired in the 3rd set to Benjamin Balleret). Better to stop tho' than continue and risk worse injury. Poor Seb!

And there was a controversial 'double bounce' that went against Ivo!

At least I got to actually see him play rather than a scoreboard and there were some terrific passing shots and lobs!

Re: Monte Carlo '08

For anyone who saw the match:

I know we are all sad that seb went out like this but did anyone notice how the bill of his hat was ripped up? probably the coolest hat to ever grace a tennis court. Also, his reaction to Ivo's pathetic behavior was priceless...I fear the day that seb retires mainly because of his personality.

Re: Monte Carlo '08

In L'Equipe today - apparently, he won't play again until Roland-Garros!
Quote:
