Guga comes back toward house for 1° stage of the recovery

Florianópolis (SC) - Gustavo Kuerten is in return to Brazil. The tree times champion of Roland Garros disembarked in Florianópolis, come of Pittsburgh, in United States, where it was submitted to a artroscop in the right hip, in day 21 of September.
"I am feeling very well and with sufficient spirit and patience to face this stage of recovery" Guga said, that will remain in Brazil, in the next weeks, giving continuity to the first stage of its whitewashing, that must lead of four the six months.
All the work is being made for dr. Marc Philippon, of the University of Pittsburgh and who carried through the surgery, with the accompaniment of close for dr. Rogério Teixeira Da Silva and of the physiotherapists Pete Draovitch and Marianela Lima.

In this first phase of the recovery, of cicatrization, Guga will have to make only light exercises. Later, it will come the stage of fortalecimento of the muscles and, finally, the preparation for the return to the competitions.

The report said this picture is in airport Florianopolis , but I'm not sure.

Guga initiates work of recovery in the swimming pool
07/10/2004 - 17h21

São Paulo (Reuters) - Gustavo Kuerten initiated in this thursday work of whitewashing in the swimming pool, after to pass for a surgery in the right hip, day 21 of September, in Pittsburgh, in the United States.

The Brazilian tenista, that also was operated in 2002, will make daily light exercises, inside of water, that enbody the first stage of recovery.

" Guga is having a good recovery, inside of the foreseen one. He now initiates the exercises in the water and to each day he goes gaining more movement in the hip", explained the Dr. Rogérioo Teixeira Da Silva, who is following the catarinense in Brazil and participated of the surgery to the side of the doctor Marc Philippon.

The process of recovery of Guga must last of four the six months, according to doctors
