First Masters' Series of the Year - the Indian Wells Cheering Thread

Well I know that it's a bit early, but now that Juan has got into the main draw - thought I should start this thread. The Masters' Series events are the elite of tennis tournaments - all the best players in the world are there and every match is hard I don't expect much from Juan here (especially with the adjustment from clay back to hard courts), but to be in IW will be great experience for him - so I hope he can enjoy himself..............and if he wins a match or two it would be a great bonus Buena suerte Juanito

Yes, it's a good chance to look forward to that. When Indian Wells starts, he will have had some rest. Good that he captured a spot in the main draw and is part of this Masters.

Carlos --- C'MON Lleyton!!! --- Kiwi!!! --- Jürgen --- Juan

Best of luck to all Germans : Nicolas Kiefer | Rainer Schüttler | Lars | Florian | Tommy

It is nothing serious as far as I am aware, marti. He was never really planning to play Indian Wells (that's why he didn't enter the qualles) as he preferred to take a couple of weeks' holiday - Juan has actually played 8 weeks out of 9 this year and is very tired. When so many people dropped out of the Entry List his name automatically appeared on the Alternate List, but after some serious thought they decided he would be better prepared for Miami and the clay court season if he took 2 weeks off now instead of flying all the way to IW where he was unlikely to gain many points. He suffered with cramps in Acapulco and had to retire from his match with Chela, and had a slight thigh strain so rest is more important for him at this stage. Hope you enjoyed your holiday

Yes - he is Top Seed there. It takes place during the second week of Miami so he will go there providing he is no longer involved in the Miami tournament. After that, he plays the Houston Clay Court tournament next month and then Casablanca before coming to Europe for the European Clay Court season. If you go to the first post in the Schedule thread it will tell you all his confirmed tournaments - I update it regularly
