Re: Juan in the Land of the Rising Sun

Hi from Tokyo.

Thanks for the draws.

Late afternoon today, Juan practiced with Horna. Juan was alone without coach/trainer. All my friends who were there were fascinated by him - to be exact, by "his smile". He will have quite a lot of fans by the end of Japan Open.

If Juan is to play Suzuki (JPN) in the R2, it will be in the center court and everyone will cheer for Suzuki. But don't worry - me and my friends will be cheering for him.

All the withdrawals helped him to get a seed. Use it properly, and good luck, Juan Mónaco.

Don't worry, Rosie (and everyone here).

Today Juan practiced with K. Carlsen. And later with G. Soeda (JPN).

Juan is very, very popular now. After the 2nd practice, I saw some 10 girls went to him to ask for autograph/photo. He even seemed to have gotten some small cadeau. He was, of course, being very friendly with full of smile, which enchanted the girls all the more. Also, he has several Japanese friends with whom he made friends during his stay in the States or Barcelona.

And NEWS! Juan has a new coach. Guess who. Eduardo Infantino! From next week on, they start working together. As for this week, Peres Roldan is helping Juan.

I have known this for a while - but couldn't say anything My favourite coach and one of my favourite players This is why I said a while ago it was time for Juan to get a new coach I loved Lobo, but I think it's time Juan had a coach of his own who could concentrate solely on him instead of working with another player as well - I wish them luck together.
