Australian Open cheering thread

Pico will face the runner-up of last year, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. Very difficult, but Pico can win it if on a great day.

Vamos Pico, se puede!

Maybe Tsonga is not playing... he hasn't decided yet... I think he had an injury or something.
If Tsonga doesnt play then... it will be a Lucky Loser???

Yes, but I dont think he will pull out. He has te final points to defend, he probably gave that WO this week as a precaution

Re: Australian Open cheering thread

Everybody, Juan is now my 2nd fave player. He was so awesome at the Aus Open. He's just so polite (that was the word Peta used when she met him, but I couldn't agree more). I had a photo taken with him, and it was awesome. And today, I was sitting down having lunch in the shade, and Juan and his team came and sat on the table right next to me. I said hi to Juan and smiled, and he did the same. Then he went and warmed up while he was waiting for people to leave his practice court, and his coach began talking to me. I told him how to pronounce 'Hisense' arena, and then he asked me what Hisense was, and I told him it was electrical stuff. He then yelled out to Juan, and he came over, and we started talking together. I couldn't believe how nice he was, him and his coach were amazing. And his coach told a group of girls that he was the professional player, not Juan, and they actually bought it. I looked at his coach as if to say 'liar' and he winked at me as if to say 'play along with it'. Then later on when the girls went away we burst out laughing. It was such a great day, until I saw him lose to Tsonga that is, but theres still the doubles at least

I'm glad Pico is just the way he is! Something quite similar happened to me in Madrid with him the last 2 years . Did you take any pics during the match???

what a great thing to read! This was the exactly impression I had of him and that's a big reason why he is my favourite player (along with Lapentti), nice to see that he is nice indeed

I hope I can take a picture with him at Buenos Aires next month
