Sanam Singh

Sanam spent 4 very succesful years at Virginia in college tennis. He played 2 or 3 for the Cavs for most of his team behind Shabaz and Donijan. He did reach #1 in the nation in college tennis for one of the ranking weeks.

He has upped his rank to 612 in the ATP after winning an Indian future last week and has been making deep runs in Indian futures for weeks. He is ready to step up to the challengers soon. Got a WC into Charlottesville and took Bobby Reynolds to 3 sets and has taken Ilhan to 3 before.

I have seen him play in person twice. He is very speedy and has a great backhand. He has a great shoulder motion on the double handed bh and can hit it flat down the line or crosscourt. He really steps in and drives it. Very good shotmaker on the run. Very clutch player and physically fit, could play for 10 hours.

Re: Sanam Singh

This is him clinching the match vs Stanford last year in the NCAA quarterfinals. Very hostile crowd but he got it done

Singh is abusing opponents in anothe rfuture, this time in Bhimavaram. The scores have been 6-0 6-0, 6-1 6-4, 6-3 6-1, 6-3 6-1. He will face Saketh Myneni in the final. Myneni played at Alabama in college.

Re: Sanam Singh

that's 3 futures in a row. His footwork is good enough for the challenger circuit. Hope he can have some good results in challengers soon.

Re: Sanam Singh

Thanks for starting this thread. I watched his match yesterday & he showed great mental resolve to come back from 2-5 down in the final set against Saketh Myneni. He will be in top 450 after these points are updated. Should get a lot of confidence after this performance. Hopefully, he will move upto chalenger level soon enough.

*bump*

def Young 6-0 6-3 in the second round of the Knoxville Challenger. Hasn't exactly had flash results recently so his run here is a nice surprise
