Re: Top 500 - Japan, China, Korea

Ze Zhang is in the final of the Fergana challeger, this is pretty big for the young Chinese dude.

Btw, is he the guy as "Zhe Zhang" mentioned in the list above?

Re: Top 500 - Japan, China, Korea

yes, great week for him. yep, it's supposed to be Ze Zhang. I'll correct it, so he won't get mixed up with Zhe Zhang, who acutally has a profile at itf too...

yeah, india and pakistan used to be one country anyway :-) but Qureshi nowadays seems to be focusing on doubles only. he's about to drop out of the top 900 in singles :-)

Re: Top 500 - Japan, China, Korea, Chinese Taipei and India

Di Wu and Mao-Xin Gong are in the final in China F6. I can't remember if Futures points are updated every fortnight, but a few players from the list should get a little higher in their rankings soon.

Re: Top 500 - Japan, China, Korea, Chinese Taipei and India

2nd futures title for Di Wu in 2010. Some impressive results this week from Wu. For example easy wins against higher ranked players like Lim, Cho and Heliovaara. Wu reached the final without dropping a set.

Other results: F for Gong and SF for Li at China F6; SF for Moriya at Japan F5 ...

Also Christopher Rungkat wins Indonesia F2... perhaps the first Indonesian player to win an ITF title? Well, I don't know about that but I'm quite sure it hasn't happened in the last couple of years...

First post will be updated soon. I think the points from last weeks futures will be added next week.

Re: Top 500 - Japan, China, Korea, Chinese Taipei and India

I didn't even check the other Futures event held in Asia.
Is it worth adding to the first post an "other" catergory? Are their players actively inside top 500 say from Indonesia, Thailand etc.?

Re: Top 500 - Japan, China, Korea, Chinese Taipei and India

Thailand currently has one player in the top 500 (Kittipong Wachiramanowong 481) and a couple of players between 600 and 800. Don't know what's going on with Danai Udomchoke he has only played one match this year. He's now ranked 623. Career high ranking was 77.

For Indonesia, there's only Rungkat in the top 1000. He's now rankend 980 but will improve when the points from last weeks victory will be added.
