It was lots of double-tuck to the spectators when the final of the ATP Challenger Købstæderne opened last days of the tournament in Kolding. It helped both the 2nd seeded English / Pakistani couple Jonathan Marray and AISAM Ul-Haq Qureshi in the 4th interest-seeded Austrian constellation Martin Fischer / Philipp Oswald with.
Not least in the first set of discs were up from the two couples, who played incredibly close in almost every lot. It should then also quite close to 5-5, before it succeeded Fishcer / Oswald break. The decision in the lot fell on an appropriate match of beautiful duels. From there, the two Austrians have no problem with the server kit homes.
Sætsejren and an early break in the second set seemed to give the Austrians a little accepting, which ended up being decisive. Anyway, they were more dominant in the server's own party and even managed to break one more time. Since the post at the time was 5-3, it meant that the tournament victory was at home with a 7-5, 6-3. Match ball was appropriate for the match quality with a pre-determined winner from Martin Fischer.
The Austrians, who in the semifinals had sent it topseedede couple Michael Kohlmann and Alexander Peya in addition, can thus take from Kolding with a premium check for 2650 euros and the title as winner of Købstæderne ATP Challenger doubles. Thus was their title challenger harvest increased to three this season.
Is there ANY asian player who has the potential of cracking the top 10 ala
Srichaphan in the near or distant future?
Mirza of the women came close close,
but don't think she will surpass Thailand's Tanasugarn's 19th singles ranking yrs ago.
Especially with Mirza's recent engagement....which means motherhood..but some have done it.
Paradorn is a fitness/physical freak...may be generations before we see another asian like him. Cher chez la femme (his wife, Miss Universe!)
Qureshi isnt playing this week in the ATP 250 or on the Challenger tournaments.
Qureshi will probaly play next in the ATP 250 in Valencia or Basel or in the Challenger in Eckental or maybe the Challenger in Astana (Kazakhstan), all these tournaments start on the 2nd of November.
Hope Qureshi can get in the Doubles Draw in Valencia or Basel for the Doubles, more Points up 4 grab there (250). In the Challengers in Eckental there will be around 75-85 Points 2 win in the Doubles and in the Challenger in Astana there will be around 110-125 up for Grabs. Kazakhstan is in Europe so maybe Qureshi could go there, I can't see Qureshi going out of Europe, he will most probaly stay in Europe for the rest of the year.
