Bonus Points

After lots of disagrements, this poll will decide the future of bonus points. Obviously we need as much FMTA players as possible voting.

Re: Bonus Points

I think we should review bonus points. Not eliminate, but probably they are not fitting good now.

The biggest problem for me is the quantity of bonus points. As an example, i take Coria (he deserved his US Open title, i'm not complaining). He started with 115 points on hard. In the first tournaments, all players were having kinda the same points. But the players that had more success at the beginning earned lots of bonus points. Now he has 125 points to spend. Against players with 105 points, for example, he has a 20-points advantage, which i think is such big. Winning isn't impossible, but the chances are very reduced. This way, the players with most bonus points will hardly be upset, the other players wouldn't get bonus points and we'll have always the same winners.

I propose bonus points for playing at home soil (as well as playing at the continent) should be abolished. As for the ranking bonus, we should establish a period of validation. I like the way it goes at FMTL. You win bonus points for a title, and then you have them to use (in the title surface) until the same tournament on next season.

Re: Bonus Points

Just another fact: From the 6 tournaments of US summer season, Coria won the last 4 tournaments and reached the final in another one. He can't stay with 125 points anymore

I can't think of anything to change other than minimize the bonus for the top 10 players (which is bad for me too).

Now we have:

#1: 5 bonus
#2-5: 3 bonus
#6-10: 1 bonus

we can make it:

#1-3 3 bonus
#4-6 2 bonus
#7-10 1 bonus

Whatever change is made needs to be made in the off season. Changing the criteria 2/3 of the season thru just makes a mockery of the game. I did vote to abolish all bonus points and I still stick by that. I've had 7,8, 9 or 10 bonus points since the first few weeks anyway as has Chela and Johansson and nothing was said then. Only now because one player is winning regularly this bonus points question is brought up. Bonus points do help but I've said it before and I'll say it again it's your tactics which is by far the biggest deciding factor in whether you win or not. Some players don't even change points from one match to another yet other players are more astute. Mahut has only played about half the events without hardly any bonus points if any at all, and the only way he is winning is by tactics alone. Today just after 2 sets he realised I didn't put in more than 25 points in any set. So if Saretta went 19/19/19/19/19 today he would have won All in all Bonus points are irrelavent to this game as we already split our points between the surfaces.

Tennis Tipping Titles

2006 Acapulco singles

2009 Halle doubles with Bavaria100
2008 Dubai doubles with Bavaria100
2007 Nottingham doubles w Bavaria100
2007 Costa Do Sauipe doubles w Bavaria100
2007 Vina Del Mar doubles w Bavaria100
2006 Acapulco doubles w Rosie
2006 Buenos Aires doubles w Rosie

I agree with that, because we use rankings from singles and doubles to have bonus points.

Totally agree to do it in off season

An di agree tactic is very relevant, but bonus points are decisive, yes. Specially in 3-set matches where we can't split points a lot.

Re: Bonus Points

High ranked player (top 5,10) should be banned from voting in this poll.
This game will become a complete joke if this bonus points will stay.

Do you want lower ranked players to get bonus points then or do you want those who are ranked lower than the 10th place decide everything?

I want same conditions for everyone.
You get as much points as you decide.I think it's between 115 and 90.
Only that.

I want that too so I'll think of a plan and propose it officially to change from the next season as we're very close to the end now and it's unfair to change it now immediately

Re: Bonus Points

If you offer solutions changes could me made, anyway, they will be applied in the offseason.

And I think that Coria won because no one realizes what his strategy really is.
