Djokovic might leave Serbia next year unless conditions improve

A želeli ste?

Re: Horrible News: Nole is leaving Serbia

Nole's dad basically said that Nole will leave Serbia because no one cares about top sportsmen. He said that they would even go to Mars if they offered proper conditions.

Srdjan, allegedly, sais that they would move to any country which would offer good conditions for Novak's progress in tennis.

He also says that he wanted to build a tennis camp so that talented kids could train...

If these are trully his own words, then he is terribly disappointed!

Re: Horrible News: Nole is leaving Serbia

It's a daily newspaper. They say that the story is exclusive.

I don't know if it's respectable, I know other daily papers in Serbia that are in fact respectable. I'm not sure.

But I expect some sort of confirmed news, maybe on Nole's web page...

Re: Horrible News: Nole is leaving Serbia

I think it's more or less certain that the entire family will leave Serbia.

Unless Srdjan, after using some plain language, doesn't provoke a proper reaction from the authorities.

He sounds horribly disappointed and angry in this article.

He looks like he's had it!

Re: Horrible News: Nole is leaving Serbia

Novak said a week ago that he is #1 of serbia and let's remember that he is an adult now so I would change your title now.

I think his father is just frustrated with some things and I support him in that endeavour completelly because I know personally that politicians there use sports stars or anyone else for their own promotion but do not return favours or act with integrity . Unfortunatelly political corruption is a major issue.

Re: Horrible News: Nole is leaving Serbia

Taking his family's best interests into consideration, it is still unfortunate that Djokovic is leaving the trap open for the next Serbian talent to fall into. I think both Nole and Ana (as well as some of the other Serbian stars) are unaware just how much weight their words can have.

If they all got together and demanded that fresh, financially astute professionals are brought in then it will, in the least, make it uncomfortable for these charlatans that have done nothing for the past 5 years since chasing the Dokic's away when their power was challenged. Remember the fiasco over the location of the tennis camp that the Dokic's wanted to build. It almost looks like the federation deliberately doesn't want to improve conditions.

The financial aspect needs to be addressed most of all. Zivojinovic's only interest in finance stems from counting how much he makes on the senior tour. The federation needs financially astute individuals who can procure sponsorship deals and constantly lobby politicians and business leaders for more funds.

Serbia doesn't even have an ATP or WTA tournament.

It isn't just tennis. Just look at that criminal Curkovic that's running the Olympic Commitee, look at what happened to Divac recently and look at the rabid opposition to benign privatizations (football clubs) while Serbia's assets are being looted on a daily basis (Sartid, Mobi 63, Trepce and soon NIS, Telekom, JAT...).

Re: Horrible News: Nole is leaving Serbia

I just read the article and I must say it sounds tabloidish but not as bad as I've seen before. With that said , there is some logic missing. That said papa Djokovic is not the most eloquent speaker and frankly sounds like a belligerent drunk.

No, it`s trash of newspaper but I beleive what is said. They like to publish this kind of bullshit and this Srdjan starts to annoy. He didn`t mentioned where will Nole go, but it seems to me like he gives his sons on auction and waits for offers . I saw some other article when they asked Nole about coming to GB and Nole said that there was some chat in Glasgow, and after that nothing although they expected that someone will spoke with them. I think this soap opera can be ballast for Nole...

At he heart of it he sounds like he is bargaining and putting some pressure . I don't know if he is talking about Novak because he is already a pro .

The most disturbing thing in the article is that he says that it's nice to see croatian president Mesic was attending tournament in Umag and proof that that he cares about sport. I am sorry but that's just very small minded. Politicians and sports do not mix in public arena. You will never see in a democratic state a politician attending sports events as that is serious tempering with public opinion and he is talking just against such politicians

no , it's not a serious paper. It states rumours as facts to get attention just like this thread.

And I doubt he is coming to britain of all places

What a load of crap!

Did you at least watch the World Cup?

Did you see Angela Merkel?

Did you see her attending matches, getting a golden ball just like the one they used in the finals?

Or you don't consider Germany to be a democratic state???
