Re: Novak News!!

Reading this interview make me feel so sad
NOVAK DJOKOVIC: Look, I don't know what I'm thinking in this moment, because disappointment after the match that I was supposed to win. So I'm not thinking about I'm not thinking about Wimbledon in this moment.
Tomorrow is a new day, so I guess this is not the first time I have this feeling. I will have to overcome it in order to get ready.

Nole also didn't understand why he lost this match. noone can understand

Re: Novak News!!

Very sad interview, he sounds really mad which i think is good, it will make him analyze this and think of solutions so that doesn't happen again. Really, can anyone understand what really happened? not even him. He's in pain, understandable. I just hope this loss is not as damaging as that one in Madrid last year.

At least the Madrid match last year was a clay loss to Nadal, rather than Melzer.

What I loved about the interview was that Nole started by giving Melzer credit. It just shows what a great sportsman he is. But on the other hand, it also highlights the problem he's had since he won his first slam.

Re: Novak News!!

From the always excellent Forty Deuce blog... thanks to C Note for posting this.

Noleo, Noleo, Where For Art Thou, Noleo?

Look, I'm happy for DoucheStamp. I really am. You can't not be happy for a journeyman player who breaks through at a Slam, putting together quality win (Ferrer) after quality win (Gabs) after quality win (two sets down to Novak). And his celebration was so joyous. He's the Franny of the ATP. Let's face it, she probably has a douchestamp, too.

But what of this kid? Up two sets and a break he once again, as he has done throughout the tournament, lost his focus and let his opponent back into the match. Only this time, he didn't get away with it.

I suppose people will be talking about this call. With D-Stamp serving for the match in the fifth and down 0-15, Nole hit what looked like a forehand winner. Bernardes called it out. ESPN's Shot Spot showed the ball clipped the line. To Nole's credit, and contrary to some idiot headlines, he didn't blame the call for his loss. Nor did the call change his opinion that Hawk-Eye should stay the hell away from Roland Garros. The bottom line is that he had numerous chances to break back in that game and he couldn't. Meanwhile, Melzer the Veteran came out swinging, determined to "win" the game and not just let Nole lose it.

Sigh. I feel like I've said this at every Slam of the past two years, but I hope the kid figures it out. He used to be my absolute favorite player to watch. Fluid game, effortless serve, amazing movement, intelligently aggressive counter-punching. Now I can barely stand to watch three games in a row, regardless of whether he's winning, without wanting to switch to another match.

Tennis is better when Nole's winning. That's a fact.

And he's still #1 at post-loss net-exchanges. I mean, it's nice to be #1 at something.

Re: Novak News!!

From Nole's official forum "Meeting Novak" thread,it was kind of cute

It's always nice to read what you write

I was in Monte Carlo but I couldn't see him because there was too much people ^^ but I spoke one time with Marian!! He's a really friendly guy and always say hello when he recognize you

But last week something sooooooooooooo fantastic happened! Actually 2 weeks ago, I was at home (and I was so sad because friends of mine was at the French open's qualifications...) and a friend call me and she said : "Ok I am with somebody who wants to say you something!" And then I heard Novak's voice on the phone... It was so surprising !! He didn"t have time so he just wish me good luck for my exam but I was happy and a little bit shocked!!!!!! (I have crazy but really great friends!!)

Finally I decided to buy train ticket's and I went to Paris .. I didn't have any tickets for Roland Garros but I was at the practice courts... In the afternoon Novak comes and practices with Marian. I wait until the end of the practice, then I call him and I thank him for this phone call!! He finally turns around, says hello with a big smile and then he asks me how was my exam Everybody around was shoked and then a man even asks me if I know novak and if I often speak with him on the phone ^^ It was funny! He is just an amazing guy with a big heart

Re: Novak News!!

It is indeed a cute story! It's amazing that he wants to do stuff like this, and he still remembers afterwards

To conquer oneself is a greater victory than to conquer thousands in a battle - Buddha

Exactly what I'm feeling. I'm in constant pressure watching him these days, even when he's winning he's struggling so much.

Re: Novak News!!

From Rafa's RG blog in I would say Ël Mundo Deportivo
http://rafah0lics.blogspot.com/2010/...lmundo-11.html

Quote:
4. Hola Rafa. Congratulations on having reached the final. I have a curiosity, how is your relationship with Novak Djokovic? Is it a respectful relationship, are you friends, if you coincide at the disco together, will you laugh with him remember all the imitations he has done of you? Lastly, are you bothered by the parody of the video? For me personally, I get the feeling that he is obsessed with you, and he can not attract attention as a champion, he has to mount the show. Congratulations on all your success and remains so. Inma Bernabé

I have a very good relationship with Novak, a nice guy. He likes to do these things, but not done with malicious intent. He was suggested by the French TV doing karaoke (me too) and he chose 'Gypsy'. No problem, just the opposite. However, other times he has done with more grace.
