Third time's the charm

“There’s so many athletes, tennis players around the world,” he continued, trying to put his life into some kind of perspective, “they want to be the best in what they do. They want to succeed. Many of them, they don’t succeed in the end. I’m fortunate to have this opportunity and succeed.”

wasn't part of my er, "fabled", 2011 spree actually (credit goes to kalisita), did Miami/Madrid and then first slam was Wimbledon (then USO)

(so let's hope second time's the charm)

I'm more interested to know what the heck is wrong with Novak Djokovic?

Nothing wrong, he's just taking pressure off himself as a favorite Wilander agrees:

Err... no, he just says that he's the favorite, but he said that after Montecarlo and before Barcelona.
However I hope you're right. Last year he didn't compete well in Montecarlo, Madrid and Rome but almost beat Nadal in RG... so i believe in him.

Re: Nole - Quench your Emotion and win the French Open :D Cheering thread!

In spite of Novk's early losses in Madrid and Rome, I'm hopeful about Roland Garros.

Novak didn't llok too upset in his presser after losing to Berdych. So he's not too worried.

I think entering Monte Carlo without any pressure worked for him.

The same can be said of Roland Garros. Rafa enters as the overwhelming favourite. Novak can just take it one match at a time.

I don't know whether I prefer Novak to meet Rafa in the semis or in the final. Maybe he has a better shot in the semis, less pressure less hype, less sense of occasion. I don't know...

AJDE NOLE! I still think you can win a the 2013 CYGS!

Yup, definitely the clay season is decided in Paris... in 2011 Novak won both masters (plus Belgrade), yet losing in Paris was big disappointment. If he wins RG, nobody will care what he did in Madrid and Rome. He should be fresh and motivated, and with practically no pressure, with a good draw he can storm into the finals

Re: Nole - Quench your Emotion and win the French Open :D Cheering thread!

So here's me being superstitious...

Before Monte Carlo I posted on the cheering thread and he won the title.

So this time I hope it works for Roland Garros!

Ajde Nole!!! Believe in yourself and keep dreaming!

"If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same"

Believe in yourself, Novak.
That's all I ask of you.

2011 & 2015 US Open.
2011, 2014 & 2015 Wimbledon.
2008, 2011 - 2013, 2015 Australian Open.

Getting to be the hitting partner for the world No.1 is an unexpected opportunity for Pouille to meet the best player on the planet and to exchange more than just a few pleasantries with him. "Novak's really nice, we had a quick chat before the session and then he came and had a talk with me afterwards. Then we ended up together in the warm-up room…" the Frenchman explained, before highlighting everything that he had learned from the master, with wide-eyed admiration. "He didn't make a mistake in the session until we were 10 minutes in. He was full on, right from the word go."
Nole looks business it seems, good to hear
