Re: 3 is the lucky number! Nole in Beijing QF vs Melzer

Nole will have a day off tomorrow. I don't want to jinx but can't find any reason for Nole to lose to Melzer who is over 30, played two three setters alreay plus doubles (he will play tomorrow doubles). Of course, the most important factor is Nole is a better player

What worries me is the fact that Nole squandered a 5-0 lead against Charly Berlocq.

Do you remember Nole losing to Melzer in Rolland Garros, when he was up 2 sets to love and 5-2 in the third?

Of course that won't happen here, it's another Novak and another Melzer, but Nole has to find again his killer-mode, he won't get away with wasting chances against the top players.

C'mon Nole...This tournament is yours to lose...

Re: 3 is the lucky number! Nole in Beijing QF vs Melzer

Nole was playing casually or a bit showily in the latter part of the match, except the last couple of games, as he knew nothing from the opponent could hurt him and the crowd enjoyed those fun points. Berlocq seemed to accept the fact without too much resistance until the game where Nole broke him third time of the set from 40-0. There was a point in the game that Berlocq wanted hawkeye review and Mo refused it saying it was too late. It was the right decision though. He clearly played the ball / challenged after Mo already called the score. (The graphic on TV showed it was on the line anyway.) But somehow he looked upset with the decision & also with Nole's eagerness not to let him win a game and started playing more seriously - no more smiles after an interesting exchange. Nole didn't catch the swing and kept making silly errors, before realizing he better be careful.

3 is a recurring number And in Chinese, 3 sounds like live or life, while 4 sounds like die or death 6 and 9 are recurring numbers too but 6 sounds like land and 9 sounds like dog.

Was it his Chinese name (小德) that he wrote on the camera lens? I definitely saw him drawing 德.

F. Mayer tomorrow, starts at 7:30pm again.
