Also be careful to let the cake cool before taking it out of the pan.

Do you realize that it's just us again?

I love the boys, but we haven't chatted alone for awhile.

Of course I did. We need our girl's time every once in a while.

I am listening to Neil Young now. Took a huge step from Bossa Nova here. Harvest Moon

My next challenge in baking will be cake. I finally managed to make cookies, bread and pies. But I always think baking cake is a very messy business

You know, if I could run a lamp and a jinni would offer me one skill, not one wish, I would choose the skill of writing. I really wish I could be better with words. I am great with thoughts, terrible in putting them into words.

I guess. My sister and my nieces are very good so I rely on them most of the time before My sister baked Jr's birthday cakes before we moved to US and my niece actually made her friend's wedding cake.

Good pie crust is more difficult to master than baking a cake.

I think cookies were the first thing I made and then cake and then pie. I really can't remember though. I made lots of cakes when I was a kid. I wanted to make every kind of cake. The funny thing is that I don't really like cake that much. I never have. German Chocolate cake is my favorite cake to make. Iots of different pots and pans and there's chopping nuts and using coconut --- So it's an all round good time.

Except for the washing up!

Lee when I watch these International House Hunter programs, I always see that in Asia the kitchens mostly come without ovens. Baking isn't really part of the Chinese culture, is it?

Washing up always is the worst part.
