Skipped Grass Tune UP Tournaments?

Why/is Novak skipping the grass tune up tournaments leading up to wimbledon?

He's doing exactly the same as he did last year. Boodles is the perfect preparation: lovely courts, top players, a more relaxed situation to prepare well.

In fact, I think The Boodles has a better field than any other 250 tournament played on grass:

Novak Djokovic
Andy Murray
Janko Tipsarevic
Juan Martin Del Potro
John Isner
Nicolas Almagro
Gilles Simon
Stanislas Wawrinka
Alexandr Dolgopolov
Fernando Verdasco
Marin Cilic
Ernests Gulbis

Re: Skipped Grass Tune UP Tournaments?

With Nadal and Federer failing so miserably, Nole could do something good here.

Re: Skipped Grass Tune UP Tournaments?

I think tune up is overrated. What did Nadal tune by playing two matches on Halle grass? And Nole's best tune-up result was in Queens 2008, followed by his worst Wimbledon ever. F the tuneups

“There’s so many athletes, tennis players around the world,” he continued, trying to put his life into some kind of perspective, “they want to be the best in what they do. They want to succeed. Many of them, they don’t succeed in the end. I’m fortunate to have this opportunity and succeed.”
