Re: Novak News & Interviews Vol.2

I might be missing something, but why would the presidential change influence the tournament? Was the tournament financially supported by the government?

In some way I guess, the main sponsor was national (state-owned) telecommunications company, though how much they actually contributed, no idea.

“There’s so many athletes, tennis players around the world,” he continued, trying to put his life into some kind of perspective, “they want to be the best in what they do. They want to succeed. Many of them, they don’t succeed in the end. I’m fortunate to have this opportunity and succeed.”

Tennis No. 1 Novak Djokovic Signs Five-Year Deal With Uniqlo
Quote:
... Djokovic will wear the company’s sports and casual wear and work with Uniqlo on design details such as color and fabric, according to the person, who asked not be identified because the terms hadn’t been made public.

The agreement with the 25-year-old Serb gives Uniqlo additional global brand exposure.

... There’s no buyout clause in Djokovic’s agreement with Uniqlo, the person said.

Edoardo Artaldi, a spokesman for Djokovic, didn’t respond to e-mails seeking comment. A Uniqlo spokesman declined to comment. ...

Re: Novak News & Interviews Vol.2

White and red are their logo (in fact, Japan flag) colors, so I will forgive them at this point. (Phew... at least no sign of blue yet. - edit: One of the lines around his right shoulder looks blue.)

Still the shorts are as tight as those of ST's. Good that he doesn't need to change his footwear. It could've been tricky. Also I bet he will get tons of off-court clothes from now on.

Re: Novak News & Interviews Vol.2

It's right before RG and he's being quite distracted with so many things 8-}. I know this has been in planning for a while but still. And I think Uniqlo making this move now is quite shrewd - they are probably hoping for the Novak slam as much as we are, so that their brand will be featured in the limelight straight away.

By the way, is that the outfit he'll wear for RG or are we still in for another surprise?

It's the same logo, written in Katakana and in Latin

Yup, I realized. I just don't like the look though. You know, like some cows being branded on . It's just the way the logo looks in general.
