thanks for starting thread . Hopefully Nole will get success with your thread starting.

There's the similarity about chance for Nole to get no.1 in RG and Wimbledon. I believe failure in RG will not make Nole frustrated. Nole has to continue to try and try his best. Nole should himself make his dream come true, Nole is holding opportunity to succeed in hand, don't expect at others. Good luck Nole.

Because of how dominant Djokovic is on hard courts, and to a lesser extent clay, I often forget the good results he's posted on grass. SF in 2007 at 20 y/o, and a SF again last year, as well as reaching the final of Queens in 2008.

I wonder how so little preparation on the grass will effect him. Hopefully lots of practice over the weekend and next week.

Looking forward to the latest challenge.

I think he will make a great tournament in Wimbledon and I'm confident he can win it. Ajde Nole!

Next year will the 20th anniversary of Halle, and Weber says he will try to sign Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic for the special event in addition to Federer, who he hopes to speak to during Wimbledon.

The funniest, most infamous, and perhaps the most unfair, was Fabio Fognini and what may have been the first case of fake non-cramps in sports history. Fognini couldn’t move his leg, said it felt like a cramp but he wasn’t sure, and was allowed by chair umpire Louise Engzell to sit down and get treated when he was on the verge of losing to Albert Montanes. As we know, he came back to win and proceeded to default to Djokovic, thus possibly altering tennis history.
I have a strange feeling about that.

Didn't follow this week's action that much though, Delpo's 'cow on ice' falls and slips made me miss Nole so much a few days ago.

Well, I saw even Nadal slipped and fell on grass vs Tsonga. Good that he landed on his famos ass so no harm done.

Nadal said to Spanish commentators after the loss that he felt exhausted and that he was just happy to go home and relax in his house in Manacor, he couldn't wait to get there. Something is definitely wrong with Rafa this season. He has been saying that he feels tired and exhausted since Miami. And it's only been 6 months. How is he going to survive the next 5? Nole better take his chances.

Wow, I didn't know that about Lisicki! She's one of my favourites, I think when up and running she has the best game to watch on the WTA tour. Great serve, beautiful groundies, good attitude. I hope she can have a good run at Wimbledon. She's a top 10 player without question, just a matter of staying fit, which she should now.

Rafa won the French despite playing at the lowest level he has for years. It was sort of comparable to the year he lost, but then again he managed to beat Soderling this time in 3, that I can't quite work out. Robin made so many errors, not sure what happened to him. Rafa's first couple of matches were pretty bad, and I didn't think he was anything special at all in the final, played some good patches, but nowhere near his dominant self. Novak would've been Rafa in the final, I'm certain of it.

Re: Onto Winnable Wimbledon (Winnabledon) 2011! Good luck Nole! :D Cheering thread :)

So the Wimbledon seeds are out and no changes for the top 10.

http://www.wimbledon.com/en_GB/news/...128657255.html

Quote:
The All England Club today announced the seedings for The Championships, 2011, with the following guidelines used to calculate them:

MEN

Since 2002, a seeding committee has not been required for the Gentlemen's Singles following an agreement made with the ATP. The seeding order is determined using an objective and transparent system to reflect more accurately an individual player's grass court achievements. The seeds are the top 32 players on the ATP Entry System Position (ESP), then rearranged on a surface-based system as follows:

•Take ESP points at 13 June 2011

•Add 100% points earned for all grass court tournaments in the past 12 months

•Add 75% points earned for the best grass court tournament in the 12 months before that.

The main "beneficiaries" of the system this year are Frenchmen Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Michael Llodra. The former is currently ranked No.19 in the world but is seeded No.12 here by dint of his quarter-final appearance at The Championships, 2010 and his run to the final of Queen's last week (where on both occasions he was defeated by Andy Murray). Lefty serve-and-volleyer Llodra meanwhile won Eastbourne last year, and rises from No.25 in the ATP rankings to No.19 seed here, despite being on relatively poor form since losing two confidence-sapping rubbers in France's Davis cup final defeat to Serbia last December.

World No.30 Janko Tipsarevic is seeded No.23 at this year's Championships after making it to the final of s'-Hertogenbosch last year, while clay-court specialist Juan Ignacio Chela, who rose to No.20 in the world after making the quarter-finals at Roland Garros earlier in the month is seeded No.25.
Jo is the one really benefit from this because he jumped from 19 to 12 so that he won't face top seed until Round of 16 instead of R3.

I always had sort of a soft spot for her, liked her game, when it's on , and her smile. And then became a fan, after noticing she was the only one that answered 'Djokovic' in a WTA Q&A article. I totally forgot what the question was about though, it was refreshing to read, since most of them saying Fed or Nadal, as expected, with a couple of Roddick between them. So I found the news that she's on gluten-free diet interesting. She can ask Nole for advice.

Good, now there's no chance of Nole facing him in R4. (And I wish I'm not putting a jinx on his draw. )

I totally remember that too, I think it was something like "who's your favourite player to watch? or who's tennis do you enjoy the most?". I bet she just changed her diet too because Novak's her idol
